Recall on Selected Metoprolol Extended Release Products Several lots of metoprolol succinate extended release tablets 25mg, 50 mg ,100 mg, and 200 mg have been recalled by themanufacturer Sandoz, Inc. Metoprolol succinate extended releasetablets (often sold as the brand name Toprol XL) are used totreat high blood pressure, heart attacks, abnormal heartrhythms, and other heart problems. The recall includes allSandoz, Inc. metoprolol succinate extended release products withan expiration date of August 2010 or sooner. Although theserecalled tablets are not likely to cause any health problems,these lots are being recalled because the manufacturer did notfollow good manufacturing procedures and the tablets may not comply with their expiration date.
