Maybe it is just that time of the month but I am really dreading my birthday tomorrow. I have so much to be grateful for but I just can't seem to get myself out of this bad mood about turning 40.......anyone else go through this when they turned a certain age????

I'm not thrilled either but there is nothing we can do to change our age so just try and enjoy it...

I was sad and depressed that day. The years just seem to fly by.
I made hubby take me for a drink or 2 or 3 lol and it helped me
feel better ;o)

And they entertained me by getting their band together and playing my favorite songs at one of my favorite lounges...just a overwhelming feeling of love I felt and to be grateful I reached 40 to embrace life with people I care about..Since I turend 40 years old, I love to give gifts on my b-day instead of receiving to mark my special day and celebrate life, that helps me to get over the age factor..lol! I am 43 years old now..

..at least in my case, my dh is making a huge deal out of "having" too many celebrations (2,his daughters and mine?!) in January. while he wont slight her, he just acts like mine is a burden on him..
he made comments like this last year as well, so it's hard to get "happy" knowing your family doesnt want to really put forth any effort.

it really bothered me a lot!! I'll be 53 in June, and I don't feel like I'm 52 now which is good and I take good care of myself, exercise, eat healthy foods, etc., so that's the important thing as well as enjoying doing things with family, friends and of course hobbies, socializing!! My hubby always told me that age is just a number...very true!! 61 on the 6th, i dont feel that old but the sad thing the older i get it seems like everyone forgets my birthday

My kids always teased me asking if I remembered them as I always say I am older than dirt. Like some of the others have said, it's just a number. ;) And as long as I get my Angel Food cake w/the fluffy white frosting, I don't care. LOL
My mom will be 81 next month & if anything, I hope I look as good as her at that age. LOL She gets alot of compliments about looking to be only in her 60's! :)
