I just dropped my car off at the shop to get tires and an inspection and front end alignment if needed. I am now going to do some laundry and figure out what to have for dinner

after the guy shows up to do the house appraisal, that is. My parents want to refinance their summer house and I was the closest one! Had a three hour drive to get here last night, and get to do the same thing going back tonight. The guy is supposed to be here between 12 and 1, so I'm hoping he shows up soon... I've got other fish to fry!

When I got in at 2 a.m. last night (err, this morning), I was greeted by some lovely water damage on the living room ceiling. I assumed it was from an improperly repaired roof leak, but when I went into the attic this morning to check it out it turns out that the HVAC guy forgot to glue one of the pipe connections, so all the condensation from the furnace? It isn't going out the drain pipe, it's going right onto the attic floor and through to the living room ceiling. Honestly, how do you forget to glue a connection that's going to have water going through it? *sigh*

So, after the appraiser leaves, I'm heading down to the local Home Depot to get some PVC primer and cement and fix the pipe. I'm glad there's such an easy fix to the problem, but angry at the crappy "worksmanship" that caused it in the first place.

On the plus side, it gives me an excuse to go to Home Depot. I love hardware stores! lol I heard they have some good power tools on clearance (if you can find them in stock, that is), so with a little luck I'll end up with more than pvc cement in my shopping cart.

It has been a hectic, hectic, day. Grandkids were here over the weekend and we had a lot of fun (Went to the park, baked cookies, had a tea party and did lots of playing)So we got up this morning, had a breakfast, then a tea party, then baths, then playing, then lunch, then took them home ( 1 hour there, 1 hour back). Got home put all the toys away, picked up all the messes, put all the dishes in dishwasher, did my regular cleaning. Then when ds got off work we went to the airpport to pick up dh's car...he had an early flight this morning and I couldn't take him since the kids were here. He's going to be gone for 2 weeks, so no way we want to pay that parking ticket..kwim. On the way home from airport, stop at Walmarts, get dinner at Subway, come home and flop. Well, almost...I still need to mop the kitchen and run the vacumn through the rest of the house. Also need to do a lesson plan for tomorrow, pay some bills, look thru ads and clip coupons....and then fall into bed....yay
