My mom recently passed away, and I have a LOT of stuff to go through. I need some advice on how to deal with certain items. Can you resell cigarettes? She smoked, and there's almost a carton of cigs left in the house that haven't been opened. Also, what's the best way to get rid of antiques? Has anyone had an auction company come to sell the stuff and what kind of cut did they take?

You need to contact a local antique store owner and explain the situation. They will know who you need to contact. A word of warning.....try not let any antique dealer/s into look at your Mom's things! There is hidden value in things you may not know about! You first want to talk to an auction house. If that's the way you decide to go. And do talk with more than one auctioneer. Words don't cost a thing. An auction house of any size should be able to take all that you want to part with. Even the junk! HTH
