I was watching an item on eBay which bidding was to end tonight.
I put the item on my eBay page under watched items.
I went to check it this AM to see the bidding and it's gone. It's no longer in my watched items.
Does that mean that the seller cancelled the auction? I have never had an item just disappear.

TIA! 1|1|Maybe. Was there a BIN on it? Maybe someone bought it. |Sara_s_Mom|IClipCoupons@gmail.com|10:31:42|01/16/2009|

2|1|Could have been removed by ebay--|sheliar|sandk95@embarqmail.com|11:31:04|01/16/2009|

I recently had one removed because I put "like new" in the title. Apparently you can't use the word "new" in the title if it's not new, so they removed it for something like "fraudulent advertising". Of course, I just changed the title to "excellent condition" and relisted, but still...
Who knows with ebay lately?

It was a piece of nice jewelry and the bidding was really low.
The seller didn't put a "Reserve" on it which surprised me and the bids were way under the value of the item.
I'm guessing the seller pulled it for that reason. Can they do that?
I will watch to see if it is relisted. 5|2|i think you can cancel up to 12 hours before end of auction|Beaglesfly|lmllr77@aol.com|22:40:27|01/16/2009|

sounds like they weren't getting the price they wanted, so they decided to cancel it maybe

I have had several situations watching and even some I have bid on where they cancel the auction. If you have bid, then they send you a notice; if you are just watching they do not.

Thanks for the explanation, SheliaR, bc I always wondered what the fradulent part was. Did not know a thing about that 'NEW' rule.

Stacey 7|4|that "like new" is actually considered keywood spamming|Beaglesfly|lmllr77@aol.com|11:26:14|01/17/2009|

Keyword spamming is using a word to get more people to view your auction....like if I had an auction of a chanel knock off, and in the title I used "Chanel Logo purse"....the people who are looking for real chanels end up getting all this extra stuff that they don't want to look at.

In the case of "like new", ebay considers something as either new or used, nothing in between (for the title, that is). I guess a lot of people complained because when they did a search on something wanting it to be in completely NEW condition, they were getting alot of extra stuff with "Like New".

Could be, if it wasn't canceled by the seller, that is was pulled by ebay for one of a million reasons (not just fraud)...someone may have reported her auction for some reason or the seller had some other infraction and was suspended (like if she didn't pay her monthly seller fees, or if her detailed seller rating fell below a certain amount).

I just knew it was too good to be true and perhaps it's a good thing I didn't get involved with that auction!
I often buy on eBay but I have never sold anything so I'm not familiar with their selling practices/rules.

I knew you ladies would have a reasonable explanation!!!!
Thanks!
