....finally....got the news that they found NO cancer, cysts aren't anything to worry about either. But, she did say that what I'm experiencing w/my cycles is NOT normal and suggested the ablation surgery.

If that doesn't work for some reason, I have the option of either a partial or full hysterectomy, but I'm going to hope for the best w/this. I'm going to be calling later this afternoon and try and get something scheduled.

Can't do it next wk., that's my b-day weekend!!! Lord knows I don't wanna feel cruddy THEN. Then the following wk., I have family relatives coming into town that i haven't seen in over 15 yrs., so I'm NOT doing surgery then!! I'm just going to be spending probably only one evening with my relatives since they are coming to the state to see their ailing relative. That's Feb. 5th or so, so depending on how quickly after that they can schedule me for this procedure, I'll be getting it done.

I'm happy that this will hopefully make *some* things much better for me!!

i put it off and i ended up with uterine cancer, i was lucky they caught it early! thank god ive been cancer free for 6 years 3|3|I'm confused? they didn't find any...|shelly|shellysue49@gmail.com|13:25:57|01/15/2009|

..signs of cancer? Do you mean to say that cancer COULD develop simply from the excessive bleeding? I'm sorry, i'm just confused.

To be clear, i'm not really 'putting it off', I just don't want it done next week as my B-day is Friday and last yr's. b-day totally sucked, so I was kinda hoping for a better time this year. Also, as I said, I have family coming to Indiana the week of Feb. 5th., at any rate, I don't think the surgery center could get me in any quicker anyway!!

To date, I've had to wait weeks just to see the GYN!?!? So, I'll call this afternoon, but I also have to take my husband's work schedule in mind--as he'll have to drive me to and fro and will want to be there while I'm having the procedure. I have a history of hemmorraghing with EVERY procedure (including both times in childbirth) I've ever had, so this is a big concern for all of us, of course.

thanks,

i didnt mean to scare you or confuse you! there are so many causes of excessive bleeding and mine happened to be cancer, im just saying dont wait get it done so you know hopefully whats causing it and can get it under control. i waited to long and payed for it. im sure that cancer is not an issue for you or the doctor would have said so. 6|1|This is what they told me too.....|Quietwaters|Quietwaters39@hotmail.com|16:02:56|01/15/2009|

they wanted to try and ablation, and if that did not work a hysterectomy, but I put it off, and then talked my doctor into letting me try the hormones first. For me they have worked great, no more anemia, no more pain. I am hoping to hold things off until I pass menopause. I have had several tests for cancer of the uterus, just to be sure.

i was bleeding heavily all the time and they took a biopsy of my uterus
which they fail to tell you it hurts like H3LL!! because of my size
me being under anethesia is risky so i would have to travel to a big
hospital in pittsburgh, my local hospital refused to do it cause of liability.

i had no cysts, tumors or anything..the doc said my ovaries were putting out
too many hormones, so if i had the ablation it would hold me off for another 3 or so years
till i HAD to have a hysterectomy.

i was mad cause i was lead to believe this would be a permanent fix. when they
did the biopsy they said my cells were abnormal but not cancerious but they could
turn over to it.

i am trying to looose weight so it will be safe enough just to have a hysterectomy
and be done with it.im tired of band aid fixes!

and my doctor didn't tell me that it would be that bad either. Now I take something when I have it done. He told me he would do the ablation in the office, but I had such an issue with pain from the biopsy, he changed his mind. I decided to not have the ablation because from what I read the tissue just starts to build back up and you are back with the same problem again,(now that might not be true for everyone.) Also the doctor said I would have to get my tubes tied, just not willing to go there.

..so don't have to worry about that. I wasn't aware that the tissue would/could just build back up again but hopefully we're talking years for that, and I'm assuming by that time I'd be well over menopause. I am 51 this mo. and haven't even missed 1 period yet, so thinking I have a few more years till full menopause that's why I'm wanting this ablation done.
I don't want to suffer ea. mo. like this any more!
