17 0|0|Done with week 1 of Chantix I have to admit it seems to work great no side affects , not even any cravings yet. I think this is the one for me to quit smoking forever:)|sarahjones|s.scottjones@comcast.net|08:21:21|01/15/2009|

2|2|Well with my insurance I pay a $25 co-pay for it for 3 months. So it will cost me $75 for 3 months. My insurance covers the first 3 months so they pay $360 of it. On the perscription it says $144.99 is what it cost. So it depends on your insurance alot with (more)|sarahjones|s.scottjones@comcast.net|08:29:38|01/15/2009|

pay for it because they want you to get healthy and quit:)
Plus if you think about once you are stopped how much you will save I know we will save at least about $300 a month or so.
My doctor said 90%of his patients have suceeded which is great.
3|3|I am amazed at it :) I have tried cold turkey , that just made me a grouch to be nice lol and the patch and the gum so this stuff is great. I think it is the hare and the rabbit commecial. I actually tried it because I know this cashier who smoked for 45 years (more)|sarahjones|s.scottjones@comcast.net|08:33:25|01/15/2009|

and she told me all about it and how it made her stop. So i thought if she could after all those years I could its been 14 years for me:( So it seems to be working great:) 4|3|wow! that's a lot. and our "savings" if both my husband and i quit would only be around $80|pussecat|pu55ecat@aol.com|08:39:12|01/15/2009|

so paying $145 a month times 2 for 3 - 6 months is NOT much of an incentive as i guess it should be huh? lol

6|5|Well my big incentive is I don't want to become like my mom who has emphasema from smoking and is on an oxygen tank so I do not want my kids to see me like that. And my husband and I are both quiting so its $50 a month. Better then $200 and the $50 a week is a carton so I wasnt a chain smoker the price just went up.|sarahjones|s.scottjones@comcast.net|08:55:43|01/15/2009|

My dad died a very ugly death, and his last few years were terrible, all do to his heavy smoking.

My daughter was born 4/11/07. A week before her due date he started taking them (at first you take the pill and keep smoking per instructions). He was amazed at how during that week he would put the cigarette out when it was only 1/2 gone. But anyway, he had his last cig right before we went to the hospital to have her. He stayed on the Chantix for a year, I believe - I forget but it was quite a while. We only paid $20 with our insurance copay so not too bad.

It's been great! I really don't know if he would have been able to quit without it!! Very proud of him! He had been a smoker for about 15 years! 11|3|worth every penny|lauri|boysnlauri@aol.com|16:04:25|01/15/2009|

My insurance didn't cover it for DH and it was $$$ BUT he's been cig free for over 1 year :) He had smoked 2-3 packs a day (I had no idea that much) for 20+ years. Never thought he'd quit but with Chantix he did it. 13|4|I quit with Chantix, after being a pack a day smoker for|bluejjj2|bluejjj2@yahoo.com|10:39:35|01/16/2009|

50 years. (giving my age away here. LOL) I took it for about 6 months, it wasn`t as hard as I thought it would be, there were times that I fell off the wagon so to speak, but one day I got up and said thats it, no more. It`s been almost 2 years now. Without Chantix I would not have been able to do it.
PS: ask your Dr. if they have any MIR`s. My co-pay was only 20.00, but I was able to do 3 mir`s (not sure if they were for 10.00 or 20.00. Good Luck to all who are trying it. 14|1|You all are convincing me to give Chantix a try....I've been hearing good things for a couple years now...one question: Did you have weight gain quitting with the Chantix? I am extremely concerned about gaining weight if I was to quit smoking :(|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|10:48:00|01/16/2009|

Also if your insurance won't pay for it call around to see who has the best price. There was a $25 between 2 stores here. 16|3|I changed my eating habits before getting on it, smaller portions, more water and alot more fruits and veggies and nuts about a week before I started. I too was afraid of that.|sarahjones|s.scottjones@comcast.net|12:45:25|01/16/2009|

Just short walks after dinner, on nice nights. Also cut out the eating of junk food at night. I gained about 8 lbs.
But I feel sooooooooooo much better. And I don`t stink anymore either.
