we weighed in at work yesterday, it was our first week. I lost 4.5 pounds. I was doing the happy dance the rest of the day.

1|1|I will be working on that for sure after I am completely quit smoking kinda hard to work out when out of breath alot lol. I was amazed at how much I had gained when I weighed in at my physical last week. I knew I had added a few over the holidays but that will be shed too. that you are tying to quit smoking. Been there, a long long time ago, but I still remember how hard it is. I hope it goes easy for you.

To both of you. Quietwaters, that is such a great start and I know you are feeling better already. Sarah, best luck in quitting! My dh used to smoke years ago and I watched him struggle with quitting. Wasn't easy, but it sure was worth it. You can do it!

An update on my loss. I'm plateaued at 30 lbs, but I just started a new cardio workout yesterday. It is a 30 minute workout and I did it twice yesterday and so far once today. My goal is 2x per day. I worked muscles that I haven't moved in years, so today I was sore. I really like it though. It is the biggest loser cardio max and you can set it up at different levels, so that you can keep up with it. I am such a rookie at floor exercise. Yesterday i started it and I told myself that I only had to do 10-15 minutes and then I could stop, but my daughter got home and so since she was right there I just wound up doing the whole thing. I had trouble following some of it, but I just kept moving and figured that as long as I am moving that is what will count in the long run. It was much easier the 3rd time other than the sore muscles, LOL! It will get easier as my body adjusts to it.

all that excercise. I am only doing 12 minutes a day on the treadmill, lol, and some weight training. I lift a lot at work every day, so that probable is not helping me a whole lot. My foot doctor told me to not do any extra walking, but it is driving me nuts to not do the treadmill. I bike a lot in the summer, so I am thinking to get one of those devises that hold your bike stationary.

Rold Gold pretzels, the stick ones! One serving size is 48 pretzels, just 100 calories and 0 grams of the new "f" word, fat! Now, that is my kind of snack! Let me eat 48 of anything and I am happier, LOL!

This is my "weak" time of the day foodwise. It is hard for me to be online without snacking, so I am teaching myself ways not to do that. I was just about to work out though and wanted a little bit of energy.

My other new food find is soup. I've always bought soup and ate it once in awhile and it turns out that the kinds I like are actually low cal and low fat. Still struggling with family dinners, so these new lessons are helping me make better choices each day, one day at a time.

How are the rest of you doing?
Wish I could help with low carb, but I am taking little steps and just learning a little bit at a time. Have not really studied carbs yet and can't help...
