neighbor called hubby at work today, to tell him that his brother had been robbed(the neighbor's brother)....we all live on the same dead end street. We got really lucky as the robber was here at our house first. We know this for a fact as our next door neighbor was outside and saw the car pull in, and park right in front of our house garage....I have been pushing for our 1 lab to stay out of the crate during the day as she is a jumper who jumps from the window to the bed to the door when you arrive...she is now out of the crate since this happened. the kicker is the kid that robbed the neighbor was caught by the neighbor outside the house, said he was looking for his dog. The neighbor went to get a pen and paper, and when he did that the kid took off in his car. The cops were called, as the neighbor found all his guns(yes lots of hunters here)...and while there...cop car in plain site...the kid came back....still claiming to have lost his dog. Because he had unloaded what he stole, and because the neighbor did not see him in the house, or with anything-til the fingerprints come back, he can not be charged.....the kid is supposedly a crackhead with a record....
to top it all off, last night over night another nearby(w/in 5 min) neighbor was robbed of his guns,.....he tried to get his gun out and head towards the noise, but they got away....they lost there cell phone in the process. While the state police where there, someone called looking for the guy...so they did catch him-not sure if guns were recovered tho...this neighbor is the aboves cousin...just dumb luck tho as there is no connection....
yes...we seem to have lots of DUMB criminals....

Our police dept is so busy all the time, they take too long to get anywhere. Plus we live by the college, so they take doubly as long even though we pay taxes the same as elsewhere =(

So glad your house didn't get hit but am sure sorry your neighbors' did.
I have a little Chihuahua & altho she may be small in size, there isn't anything or anyone that gets near my house w/out the whole neighborhood hearing about it. ;) She lets me know even when the squirrels outside are running around too close. I've established a "neighborhood watch" tho w/my neighbors here so we're all watching out for each other to see who pulls up by our houses & to let each other know right away if we see an unfamiliar vehicle. The other night, my son & his bandmates had a gig to play at late that afternoon so the boys had to load up all their equipment to take w/in their vehicles. W/in 2 min. of the 1st vehicle backing in the driveway, I got a call from the one neighbor to make sure I was home & that everything was ok. ;) The one boy was using his parent's van so my neighbor hadn't seen that vehicle here before......

talked to the state police tonight(there is a trooper that lives right next door to the guy who got broke in to...told ya the guy was dumb!)....seems the reason the idiot came back was he thought the owner of the house got his tag number....so he went, dumped the stolen goods....and then went and borrowed his buddies dog-he went back to the neighbors to say-look, found my dog...trying to make his alibi more believable...crazy people...LOL...trooper actually called me because the guy evidently went to the second to the last house on the street, and circled their house-not knowing they were home-the owner went to the door...then it seems he went to another house(not sure which) but supposedly a female came to the door. they were calling to verify that it was not our house....so that they know who else to talk to....
