Can someone explain this to me: A rebate needs a crt and a upc. But folks are looking to trade for UPCs. now I understand if it's chips and you don't want to open the bag it may be easier to buy one. But quaker can be pulled off easily.
I just don't understand why they are trading for upcs, if they bought the product (to have crt) they'd have the upc.

or maybe they are giving the products to family or friends and items look much better given away with it left in original condition.

I don't do rebates (other than the Jenn-o I actually did purchase at WM) used to long ago,
so don't flame me for my knowledge of others that do doctor rec's ..

I'm sorry but your post made got to Ebay and look, and those "computerized registers" you're talking about run upwards of $1,000 each and the printers run anywhere from $100 up to $1,000 each, BUT the kicker is the software! $3,000 for POS sofware? Man, if anyone here could afford to spend that kind of money on a register system I don't think they'd NEED to do rebates. kwim? lol lol lol

Ugh! Between yesterday afternoon & this afternoon, he's managed to make 2 Lay's bags vanish w/out a trace - bags I just bought the other day specifically to use for the Pepsi/Frito-Lay offer. :`( Looked in his room but let me tell ya, even the dog comes tearing out of their like something bit her in the butt so I was afraid to look too much in depth, kwim? LOL

I'd rather pay a HF than dig through the trash. I had the same problem with the Pepsi offer last year - the bags would disappear without a trace! I even put a big note on the fridge telling them not to toss them.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that has to trade or pay a HF for replacement upcs!

On another board I noticed this one gal was always asking for really odd upcs - such as Oscar Mayer products; Jello-O products, very common products. So, I emailed her and asked her what she needed them for. She replied that her DH was in the military and that she was entering sweepstakes and had to send in the upcs along with the sweepstakes entry from (NOT related to refunding at all). I don't know much about sweepstakes but know that there are magazines out and websites, etc. Don't know either if you had to be a member of the military to participate.
I urged her to mention that in her posts on the other board - she did and then she listed all of the prizes that she had WON - I could not believe all of the things that she had won - computers, trips, very big items, etc.
So, let's not be too nosey as to why somebody wants upcs - IMHO
