My 2 year old microwave stopped working after a bad storm...i looked everywhere for a couple months trying to replace a large retro looking chrome and white sharp carousel with no luck..i ended up getting a really good deal on a large kenmore microwave, but have to say i am not very happy with it. it is very loud and takes double the amount of time to warm things as my last microwave. 2|1|My Panasonic is almost 20 years old and still runs great I bought|tollman62|thebossatnight@yahoo.com|23:40:56|01/05/2009|

has severely gone down. Yes the price might be better but in the long run if you are having to replace them every three years...well then that isn't worth the cheap price. Sigh...

thanks! :) 6|1|panasonics are great|cdoane|cdoane@mail.com|09:28:15|01/06/2009|

Walmart and Target usually have decent prices on microwaves. :) Good Luck! 13|2|I have been. I found a nice Panasonic for $180. I would rather spend the money upfront than have to buy yet|jilda|vze4gj4m@verizon.net|14:22:43|01/06/2009|

My parents and I got the same microwaves, and both of them cr*pped out within 2 weeks and had to be exchanged. We've had ours only two years or so, and the paint has worn off the handle, and the lcd light has gone out (so you can't see how much time is left on the timer).

Ours were kind of bottom of the line, but still would have thought they would have lasted longer.

lauren 16|3|Did you try replacing the fuse in the back? Mine has died at least twice.. I take off the case and put in a new fuse from hardware store $2 .. Microwave works again.|car_mont|car_mont@hotmail.com|03:56:03|01/07/2009|

Well, I actually inherited it from an old neighbor after I graduated college. But it really is a 1978 model and other than the handle lever is broken off - it still works. It's huge and heavy though so I took it to work and it is used there.
