12 0|0|Went to the Er yesterday...|sunriver|lithiasalt@cheerful.com|13:42:36|12/29/2008|
On saturday I woke up and my face/lips were swollen like crazy. I've been sick for about 2 weeks, so just shrugged it off, took acetaminophen and figured it would get better. By sunday I knew I was in trouble because my upper lip was so swollen that it almost touched my nose if you can imagine such a thing.
The dr is not 100% sure, but thinks it was an allergic reaction to something. Taking a couple meds now and trying to get the swelling down.
I've heard every single botox joke you can think of. But at least now I can say that I do have a swelled head! LOL!
What a weird thing to happen. I look like I kissed a bunch of bees.
At least my life is never, ever boring! And I do not have snow like Donna does, so I count my blessings! Vanessa

had this happen a couple of time recently. Still working on finding out the cause. She is writing down everything she eats and drinks and she has one of the pen injection things in case she comes in contact with something that makes it worse next time. 5|1|I hope you start to feel better soon Vanessa ((((HUGS)))))~*~|RebekkaVA|queen_vulture@msn.com|17:00:19|12/29/2008|

Cathie 7|1|So sorry...any chance you were taking Motrin..........|Quietwaters|Quietwaters39@hotmail.com|10:31:16|12/30/2008|
this happened to my son, and it turned out he was alergic to Motrin. He had taken it since he was little without me ever noticing a problem, then when he was around 12, he swelled all up and had a severe asthma attack from taking it. His lips and eyes swelled up and he broke out in hives, his throat was itching.
Hope you figure it out. Do you have other alergies that you are aware of?

That's what is so weird-- I had not taken anything aside from a couple of acetaminophen (in fact I have spent so many years nursing for the last 14 years or so that I got used to taking really almost nothing at all, so it was a big deal for me to even take that). They said maybe it was our Christmas Tree, but I also spent years living in a cabin in the middle of a forest without incident. I guess these kinds of things can change though so that one day you're fine and then the next you are blown up like a balloon.
At any rate I am looking and feeling more normal today although Dh would argue that my normal is not so normal. LOL. I'd say the exact same thing about him so I guess we are a match.
Thanks for all the kind thoughts everyone. Vanessa
9|3|perhaps the christmas tree was treated with pesticides and or preservatives?|pussecat|pu55ecat@aol.com|19:04:42|12/30/2008|
could that be the cause maybe?
i sure do hope you feel better soon!

I hadn't even thought of that. We had the tree for about 2 weeks and did not move/touch it until after my face blew up, so who knows. I guess I will know if it ever happens again and I have to put my detective cap on. LOL. 11|5|I know our tree was covered with a green coating....|Quietwaters|Quietwaters39@hotmail.com|21:04:13|12/30/2008|
we haven't had a real one in several years, so I was surprised by that.
