is anyone else exhausted from looking for deals just to put food on the table without feeling like they've been a victim of highway robbery?
i used to really enjoy couponing. now i do it for survival.
i hope i didn't bring anybody down, but i just had to say this.
thanks for listening

to stockpile hba items I need desperatly in my house, I am running low on everything or out of stuff. I do this for survival also, not for the "fun" of it. We grocery shop at aldi's for almost everything food related. Meat my bf picks it up at a spanish grocery store in a spanish neighborhood, their prices are way cheaper on meat than our neighborhood store. They don't take coupons but still comes out cheap..He got chicken for 49 cents a pound, pork chops for 99 cents a pound, can't beat it.

they seem to have some good deals with the coupons I have and the rebates they are offering. I wish I were better at figuring out the best ways to put the puzzles together to get the most for my money, but my mind seems to be going these days. LOL!
I made a list and am going to take it one step at a time.
I plan on visiting more than one Walgreens if I have to. LOL!
Glad to know I'm not in this alone.
thanks!

3|2|Donna, I made up my lists also, and I have 2 walgreens within walking distance, so if one store does'nt have everything on my need list. I will|HONEY11|HONEY1@AMERITECH.NET|20:49:47|12/28/2008|

also be going to the other walgreens to get what I need. And nope your not alone in having to stretch your money, sometimes it becomes a real challenge and have decide what deals to do and what to let pass as I only have so much moola to spend, it takes money to save money, how funny is that?

I decided about month ago that I would take a certain amount each week to spend. I withdraw the cash and that's what I have to spend for the week. A debit card is dangerous in my hands. LOL!
Since I've done this I have really been able to stick to my budget. Sometimes I go over a little if I have something come up. On days I fill my gas tank up I may go over some.
But you'd be surprised how closely I seem to hang onto my cash. I turn a nickel over a few times before I let it go. And I find myself talking myself out of things I don't direly need at that time.
Maybe this could help someone else, who like me, has a hard time using the debit or credit card like it's not real money.

my groceries, health and beauty, and all stockpiles have to come out of that amount. When I run out I stop shopping.
