The freaking record breaking snow and freezing ice here has made it so my friend had to cancel the get together tonight. I have NO plans whatsoever tomorrow... So the whole Christmas thing is basically off. i was to get a Christmas tree, but thanks to the weather my friend couldnt get over to get one. TO top it off I only received one card and there will be no gifts this year.
I really loath the holidays.

I'm not depressed but I have to admit it'll be kind of a relief when tomorrow is over. Maybe MY expections are unrealistic but it just seems like the holidays aren't as family or "homey" oriented as they used to be & have gotten to be more materialistic. :( My son & I sat here a half hour ago while he opened his presents from me & Santa Claus. When he was done, he said "thanks" & headed off to his room w/the stuff. I had no presents to open but I didn't care about that unlike the short "thanks" & disappearing act. I'm happy to just have the pretty lights on but I sure wish others could appreciate something that simple..... Please identify yourself in 1st email. If I haven't traded w/you before, I will require *legit* trade references & will gladly provide the same.

13|2|seems like everyones holidays just arent what they used to be|couponsnsamples|cpsnsamples@aol.com|21:18:31|12/24/2008| i know ours hasnt been since i lost my mom in oct 2001....then my brother in 2003.......be everyone still gets together at my dads...on christmas eve...and trys to make the best of it.....but since christmas eve was my moms birthday....it sure doesnt seem the same.......but this yr.....my nephew is Iraq....and my brother and his wife didnt even come to dinner because they are staying by the phone just in case he gets to call home from Iraq... but my dad has lots of kids and grandkids,great grand kids....and we try to make it all about my dad and the kids..... Do we have some things in common! One of my nephews drowned at age 16 in 1997 & his 27th birthday is today. My dad passed away in 2001 & one of my sisters passed away in 2003. Christmas Eve was my dad's favorite & my sister's 56th birthday was day before yesterday. Besides my mom those 3 were the ones I was closest to cuz they were down-to-earth & fun to be around; just all around enjoyable & outgoing. Fortunately, I still have my mom here who is just as enjoyable & outgoing so we also laugh & joke about the silliest things & have fun together. She feels the same way I do about the little things meaning the most. The others in the family have NO sense of humor whatsoever, & I think they're made of cold, hard stone. :-p My son & I just got home from my mom's a little bit ago. It was just us 3 there & while my son sat on the couch like a rock & barely mumbled a few words (when can we go home?, can we go home now?), my mom & I had a blast talking & laughing, & just enjoying being together. We both tried to engage him in conversation, even trying to get him to play a game of Scattergories. No luck. Do I feel like I'm missing anything? Only my loved ones who have passed on & the wonderful times we had. But I think the ones who sit around like "rocks" & "stones" sure are missing out on alot of things! ;) Have A Very Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year! Please identify yourself in 1st email.
