"Friends are angels who lift us up when our wings no longer remember how to fly"
I know this is a hard time of year for everyone who is reading this--but please read on:

My son - in- laws Mother collapsed a week ago this tuesday. She laid unconcious for 3 days upstairs in her bedroom. My son-in-law stopped by her house to use her car for the day and found her laying there. Her blood sugar was over 1000--she is in Hamot Medical Center in Erie,Pa in the Medical Intensive Care Facility. She woke up this morning after being in a coma for a week. When the Doctors asked her what happened, she said she could not remember and did not even remember passing out. We have determined that she does not have any insurance and therefore she could NOT AFFORD TO PURCHASE HER INSULIN ( a life saving medication) she needs to stay alive. This story could have been much worse as they feared that she may have had brain damage--so far she is coherent and aware of her surroundings--but --when she leaves the hospital with her son--she STILL WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PAY FOR HER INSULIN. I believe it is a sad sad world when someone will not step forward to help someone who needs life saving medication on a daily basis. Therefore, if there are any angels out there who have read this message--any ANGEL DONATIONS to help her with the purchase of her medication can be made to me, Doc Polly. A lot of you know me from trading and refunding over the past 10 years--I have set up an account with the place of business where she gets her medications (* in Erie )that funds will be transferred to an account in her name from my paypal account--If you would like to make an ANGEL DONATION----------

please log onto your paypal account and send whatever you can tO help her. A DONATION OF ANY SIZE IS MUCH APPRECIATED
HER NAME IS WILMA DRIVER AND YOU CAN PUT IN THE SUBJECT LINE EITHER HER NAME OR "ANGEL DONATION"
I AM DESIGNING A HUGE CARD AND WILL -PLACE ALL FIRST NAMES AND THE STATE ( please let me know where you are from) THAT YOU ARE FROM ON THE CARD FOR HER--
THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU AT THIS TIME OF YEAR AND THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE YEAR TO COME.

DR. POLLY ( docpolly)

There is help out there IF you know how to find it I don't like that.
It should be centrally located and accessible to all.
I don't mind helping anyone, so always feel free to ask me.

for several months now, emphasizing to contact your state's senator if you don't have insurance & are unable to afford your medications. This may also apply to your area so I would think it is worth a shot to try. HTH. :)

medications

she is 62 and just retired on social security--but that is not enough to feed her and pay her heating bills
she can't afford the cost of medical part D ( perscription drug coverage)

and I agree the agencies on aging SHOULD COUNSEL HER ON EVERY AVAILABLE ASSISTANCE THAT SHE CAN GET

She did her time and paid her taxes like every other redblooded american--so she should be entitled to assistance with her medical bills

I am going to look into a few things myself and see what can be done to help her--in the interim--As I said if anyone wants to make even a $1.00 donation to help--the money will be transferred to a credit account at her pharmacy where she picks up her medications

Thanks all for assistance
:)
doc 7|1|Doc, also if you can give me the specific name of the drug along with her age, I should be able to find more exact help.|Ranalt|ainebailey@gmail.com|22:10:05|12/22/2008|

with the company that makes the insulin because a lot of drug companies give out the medicine for free, my sister gets most of her meds that way. 14|1|My husband and I found ourselves without insurance. What I did was call my doctors office, and explained the situation. They were able to provide samples to tie us over. But also helped us apply to the manufactures(bases on income) to get a free 90 supply. You have to fill out a couple of forms, and the doctor signs if. We had our 90 day supplies, within a week. So comapanies, had a more ridgid process than others. But most were pretty simple. HTH Donna|dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|15:20:15|12/23/2008|
