11 0|0|Anyone try Jennie O Oven Ready Turkey|cove|tangle3blue@charter.net|16:44:07|12/21/2008|

I bought one of the Jennie O Oven Ready Turkeys in the bag.
I is the boneless turkey breast.
The instructions say to take it out of the outer bag, and keep it in the sealed bag,cut a few slits on top of the bag and bake.
I am wondering if this is going to be dry.
Thinking of cutting slits and somehow pouring some broth into the bag and then place the whole thing in another bag, like the Reynolds, "cooking bags."
Anyone make one of these or have any ideas how to fix it.
I'm hoping I get at lease some juices from the bird so that I might be able to add extra broth and make some extra gravy?
I think it may also have a gravy packet inside, but I'm not sure I will like this.
Any ideas, please post.
Thanks in advance!
Donna

1|1|I did the exact one you have....I followed the directions, but I did it in the crockpot (there are directions for that on the pkg too)....it turned out soooo moist and flavorful! If they werent so expensive I'd get another one!|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|17:02:22|12/21/2008|

I was lucky and caught a deal. The turkey was $11.?? and they had a $5.00/1 coupon on the package! This brought it down to $6.??
It's not cheap compared to getting a 20 pounder for this price (since this is a 2 pound boneless), but my hubby had all his teeth pulled and wasn't going to eat anyway. He won't be eating anything solid until the middle of February. So mine is in my freezer and I will make it for me when I feel in the mood for turkey. There is no way I was going to make a 20 pounder for just me. LOL!
I can have a meal, and make leftover dishes with the rest.
Thanks for letting me know how tender it came out. I think I'll try the crockpot too. If I get any juices I should be able to come up with some gravy.
Thanks again!
Donna

3|3|I got a deal too.....$5 coupon plus the $10 rebate, got one for about $1 :) Oh, and for the gravy.....I used their packet according to directions, but added the juices from the crockpot to that and thickened it a bit more with some cornstarch....yum! :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|18:14:09|12/21/2008|

I got the rebate too. so you would be the person to ask.
The UPC code was not on the bag. it was a printed UPC code from the grocer.
Did you have this same situation?
Thanks
donna 6|5|What UPC did you send for the Rebate?|cove|tangle3blue@charter.net|19:43:51|12/21/2008|

There was no UPC on the bag, just a printed one the grocer put on.
Is that the one you sent in?
Donna 7|6|Yes, that is the only one any of them have....the first numbers are the product, part of the others is the weight/cost, and some are the store (from what I've read on the refund board). HTH|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|19:48:15|12/21/2008|

Wow! You guys were right! This was the best turkey I have ever had!
Now if I only had some more $5 coupons on these things I'd stock my freezer!
I'm hoping to find a bunch marked down as the expiration dates on them get closer.
LOL!
