Dave went for scans yesterday and had an Oncologist appointment as well.
Unfortunately - the results were not very good.
His feet and ankles are really swollen and have been for a few days. The scan showed that he has blood clots in his stomach. SO....he needs two shots of blood thinner everyday for the next 6 months. I'll be giving the shots because he would rather not do it. This was the lesser of all the options he had to choose from including being hospitalized. The shots cost
over $1,500!!! Thank goodness our deductible was "only" $100.
The worse news is that some of his lymph nodes have cancer. SO...starting the first of week January he will need chemo therapy. They were going to start it next week but we asked if they would wait until after the holidays and they agreed. He was to return to work in January but that is not going to happen now. Not sure when he will return to work, IF he will return to work...only time will tell.
I so wished we would have received better news. Dave is not taking this too well. He was already unhappy about being confined for so long (he had a kidney removed in July due to cancer and has not been to work since). The only way he can get around is with a cane or on one of those motorized carts at the grocery store. He was hoping that he was starting to get better and could start enjoying himself again. But I guess that will have to wait a bit longer.

He still gets tired real easy. Monday he starts chemo and from what I've been told it
will be worse after the treatment. So, - we'll see next week how he does.
