I am curious because this is my son's first year of public school and they are not having a program and are having a Mexican Fiesta party. Even my preschoolers class is not celebrating with a party.
I am very disappointed as I always really enjoyed my oldest son's programs at his last school.

because of all the different religions they do not for say have a "christmas" party they have parties but they are themed something other then christmas. they have like the mexican fiesta party or a pajama party or a holiday party but no christmas parties. I know its very sad that we cant have christmas parties at school. Our school doesnt even decorate for christmas and in my area of the school we dont put anything. there are some snowflakes or snowmen around the school but thats it.

and our concerts are called Holiday Sing-A-Longs
We do have some families in our school that don't believe in ANY Holidays (Halloween, Christmas, etc...) The Halloween parties are called Fall Festivals any you can chose to or not to wear a costume.
Not saying what's right or wrong just stating what our area school does. When I moved here in 1996 (this is a strong Catholic community with 2 Catholic churches within 2 blocks of each other) we had our Christmas eve mass at the school because there were soooo many people that attended but for the last 7 years they have discontinued that and now just hold it at the churches. Am sure it has to do with the changing times and different families & beliefs of those who have moved into our area. Also seperation of church & school suppose has something to do with it.
