I am *so* distracted lately, and tired, and feeling overwhelmed w/Holiday shopping (STILL--normally I'm done WAY before now, but thanks to my 19 yr. old son, I just got his w/l yesterday!) that I just messed up my son's laundry!

Argh......I was doing a load of his school clothes and I ALWAYS wash these things in COLD water. I have 2 (big) loads to do today, so threw the first batch in and went to do something else (oh yeah, wrap presents---AGAIN...it's never-ending). I came back to put them in the dryer and throw the next load in and realized that I just washed all his jeans, shirts, etc. in WARM water....after they've been in the dryer a little while I pulled some out to check the size. I do think a couple shirts/hoodies got shrunk, @*$&, and maybe ONE pair of jeans, I cannot truly tell until he gets hm. from school and have him look thru it all.

Gosh darned-it!! I went over budget for C'mas this year, don't have a job, have health "issues" going on and worried sick about money----then this!! I hope I don't have to replace a bunch of clothes for him right now!!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I cannot imagine something shrinking that much in one wash in warm water. I wash everything we have except sweaters in HOT water and run my dryer either HOT or WARM and we never have any issues w/ shrinkage.

I also wanted to say that you are a VERY NICE mom for doing your son's laundry with him being 19 =)

Merry Christmas!

....my 19 yr. old lives out of state...so I'm doing my 16 yr. old's, though he CAN and WILL do it himself if I asked him to. I DO think the one sweatshirt shrunk, though, and the one pr. of jeans, like I said, I'll have to ask him when he gets hm. today. The rest look ok, I just took 'em out of the dryer and folded...thank goodness!

Thanks for your post,I guess I kinda freaked, 'cause I always wash everything except towels and underwear in cold. Always have.
