I posted this under a thread from another board I belong to. Anyway, the discussion got quite interesting. I have a question, wondering if anyone else has experienced something that's happened to me a number of times:
Lately, I've had a couple of incidents while home alone, that did not frighten me in any way, but definitely have made me stop and wonder?! Once I was napping, but a (loud!) voice woke me....I can't remember what was said, but it was a short sentence or the like. Very odd. Nothing out of the ordinary has happened ANY time that I've heard these "voices". Once I heard just my name "SHELLY" very, very loud, and again, I was alone in a public restroom. I've had more, just cannot remember all the specifics now. Has this type thing ever occurred to anyone else on the board? I'm curious...what to make of it?!,

Once when I was pregnant with Cheyenne, I was at the ER because she kept wanting to come out early and I was in one of labor and delivery rooms, it was dark in there and quite cold, I kept praying to GOD that Cheyenne not be born yet, to please give her more time in my womb, and then all the sudden I heard "Rebekka" and it was the voice of my step-dad (he had passed away a few months earlier). He said something like everything will be fine. It was totally weird and kinda spooked me. Then my son Matthew said he saw him (my step dad) in the hall at our new apt, right after Cheyenne was born, so I was wondering if he just wanted to be near the baby and make sure she was fine. Another time Cheyenne was playing in her crib, she was 18 months or around almost 2 maybe and she kept sitting in the corner of the crib and looking up at the roof and was chattering away. I asked what you're doing honey, and she said grandpas making bells and grandma is making cookies. It got me to thinking that maybe Will's parents and my dad and step dad were watching over here and somehow communicating with her. Hugs, Rebekka

i was sleeping in my room at home
i hadn't attended his funeral but he was in my room and woke me up
he wanted to tell me that he understood why i wasn't there and he knew that i loved him
scared me at first but i heard him out and i thot i was dreaming it but i was wide awake
and i have had some odd things happen in the house we live in
we live in my grandparents house and i think one time when kendall was little grandmother adn granddaddy visited and one other person cuz there were 3 apparitions that would not move when blown by a fan and they smelled good
scared me i left home
they were gone when i got home

Years ago I was living in a two story house by myself. I was asleep in a bedroom upstaires. I woke up and there was a shadow of a man leaning over me looking at my face. As I raised up out of bed the shadow slowly backed away and disappeared. It was the strangest thing that has ever happened to me. I was sound asleep..was in the middle of a dream ..and distinctly heard a male voice clear as a bell say "Kathryn" and I woke immediately up! I still remember it very clearly. (and yes..I dream in color! lol) Now everyone calls me Kathy except hubby and his family, so that was really 'weird' but not the first time I have had that happen though but has been a long while since it last happened.
I have posted before we have 'others' in this house (not of this world) but haven't a clue who that voice was and why they said my 'formal' name.

..chills!! THAT is what I was talking about, not so much "ghosts" or shadows or whatever...that's a whole 'nother story. I was wanting to know if anyone else had heard these kind of "voices" like I described.
I guess since a couple of you ladies said this has also happened to you, I'm still left wondering *WHO* and WHY, but at least I know I'm not alone...lol!

...I have read many of her books. She used to be a reg. (wkly) guest on the Montel Williams show, but I don't think that's been on the air for a couple yrs. now.

fan as well of Sylvia Browne and John Edwards but never heard of that gal before. Brings to mind a quick very TRUE story of my daughter's ex day nurse (we still are in touch via email and she sends me coupons sometimes too :)) Anyhooo...she was telling me several times of a gal she worked with at the hospital in Peru, IN. She said all the nurses deferred to her to find out when someone was going to pass on. This gal could actually 'see' spirits in the room with them and would often pass by a room, look in and announce to the other nurses that 'so & so' is going to pass shortly as there are a lot of spirits in their room with that person..waiting on them to take them to the other side. Sherry..my ex nurse..said it NEVER failed..this gal was dead on every single time! Then there was the time where there was a patient who the nurses said they were just sooo creeped out going into his room..they just felt weird..not right..just something they couldn't pinpoint..and no one wanted to go in there. They got this gal and told her to go in there and do 'whatever' that patient needed done. She went in there and came out screaming..literally..said she would NEVER go back in there again. Said she SWORE there were demons all around the bed just waiting for the guy to pass on..said you couldn't pay her ANY amount of money to go back in there! I haven't yet checked at the library to see if John Edwards has written any books but I'm sure he has so am anxious to find out. I have read a couple of Sylvia Browne's books - actually came across them by accident when looking for something completely different. I was amazed! I didn't read her books, hadn't even heard of her or John Edwards, til *after* I'd already experienced many of the "visits" from my dad & was stunned to find her descriptions hit the nail pretty much *exactly* on the head. Sent me flying off the couch a couple of times. ;)
ETA: I once asked my college psychology professor what she thought of John Edwards & Syliva Browne. On Sylvia Browne she wasn't too sure but said, "Now John Edwards, I'm convinced he's the real deal". ;)

Although I don't own any of his, I KNOW he's written a few. HTH, also....funny what your professor felt about the two psychics~~ I actually believe the other way around. I've seen John on lots tv lots of times, and the way he goes about readings on TV feels too vague for me. Sylvia seems much more accurate, and will even say for example to go back in city/state records and look up something she's just referenced. I've been a fan of Sylvia's since WAY, WAY back---like in the 80's.
It's all personal opinion, really. I enjoy watching or reading from BOTH Sylvia & John!

8 yrs ago today! I was upstairs asleep w/ Megan, she was sick or something. A voice said Angela get up. I went back asleep, this voice (which I think was God or perhaps an angel) kept waking me up and it said "get up and go down stairs". So I did.. I notice a smell and it was getting stronger. My oldest daughters bedroom door was locked and hot. I knocked it down and her electric throw was on fire. I unplugged it and dragged it outside, came back in and woke Michelle and told her to go get her sister and go to the neighbors. I kept banging the fire, I then ran upstairs and woke up my husband. He had just worked a lot of hours at work. I will never forget this. He says "Why are you waking me up at 2:00 in the morning" and I said it so calmly..The house is on fire.
Whenever you hear a "voice" do what it is telling you!
PS to add: Michelle and Megan went to our neighbors and when the came to the door, they were NAKED!

My mom passed away in April and my children and I lived with her... She loved Christmas and always excited when it came... A few weeks ago when it snow for the first time this year. I was looking out my window at my car and I saw someone standing there just looking up at my window.. I was nervous thinking it might be a thief stealing my car, but it was my mom just standing there. In her robe she always wore and I was a little scared, but I felt comfort in seeing her. After my first husband died was the phrase from the Bible: We are surrounded by those who have gone before us. I have had multiple experiences that have convinced me that we are visited by angels, ghosts, etc.
I believe that some people are more tuned into the experiences than others. There are times in my life when I have been more tuned in than other times as well.

..I too believe our loved ones who've passed on are still around us and also believe that some are more in tune to these experiences than others.
I too have noticed when I'm more in touch with God, I "see" him & his angels working everywhere in my life vs. those times when I've been "too busy" for him. Sad to admit, but true...

My mom & my son & I have had several "visits" from my dad. I was devastated when he passed away & miss him SOOOO much. However, the "visits" have brought me so much comfort because I know he really didn't leave & will always be here w/me.
I think a person has to be open to things like that, not afraid & acknowledge it when it happens, but not necessarily looking for it - just letting it happen.

...OOOPS...I was gonna say Spirit Guide, but I realized you said Guardian Angel, and YES.....I absolutely believe we have more than one of them~!~ That possibly explains the times I have heard "voices", they were sometimes Male and other times Female?!
