let your phone completely dry out in a warm room for a few days. My son did that and after a few days it worked again except one button that he doesn't really need. Then, call ATT for the other part of the question.

my son went swimming and forgot he had his phone in his pocket so we took it and left it in the car for a few hours because it was soo hot and by the end of the day it was working it took a few days for the screen to completely dry out and return to normal but it works fine. so my advice would be

if you live where its hot right now put it in the hot car but if you are having winter weather put it over a heat vent or use the blow dryer on it and it might take a couple of days but if att phones are like sprint phones it will work

also my husband dropped his phone one time in a puddle of water and didnt realize it and it stayed there for a few hours and he went back looking for it and found it there so he put it on the dash of his truck with the heater on and by the end of the day his phone worked except the camera on it which he never used anyways

good luck with drying it out

Kathy 3|3|You can buy any unlocked or Att/Cingular specific phone and just pop your sim card into the new phone no reason to notify at&t .. Trust me I've done it quite a few times now lol|Kristy|mi3zons1@yahoo.com|22:35:49|12/12/2008|

ours went thru the super long washing cycle. took several days to dry out but it worked fine for over a year. battery was never quite the same but nothing outrageous so we made due.

Good luck!

my husband jumped in the pool to save our great niece. His phone was at the bottom of the pool for awhile. The rice dried it out in 24 hours. They say, take the batterie out right away, maybe even the sim card, then you burry it in rice, it pulls the water from the phone.
