I was wondering if I am the only one that hasnt put up there decorations yet? I usually do it after thanksgiving but we were out of town and I was going to do it yesterday but I had to do my moms and dads so I am going to do it today or most of it today. I think its to cold to put anything up outside.

I am not even done shopping so I'll try to finish it up next weekend. With a 14 yr old in your house its hard to find somewhere to hide the gifts that he cant find so I always wait until the last minute to get him the gifts that we give him

Have a good Sunday.

before Christmas and take it down after New Years. 2|1|Got the inside done (tree, decorations), but the cold temps hit early this year, didnt get anything up outside. I know what you mean about hiding the gifts where the teenager cant find them! I have twin 15 yr old boys, and I know they poke around when I'm not looking, lol....I hide their gifts in some boxes I have in the basement all the time (an old office chair box) and then I put gifts in the Cmas tree box after I get it up....they dont look in those because the boxes are nothing new :D|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|08:18:54|12/07/2008|

That just may very well be my new tactic. Mine are getting pretty snoopy and I have to get trickier... 11|3|LOL, just make sure you have a box of no interest for them.....and put it in the basement well before Cmas so they dont suspect :D|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|14:41:58|12/07/2008|

so just have the inside left. I need to rearrange the living room 1st as the couch got put in front of the one cold air duct so want to get that done before I put up the tree. Can't do it all by myself tho & my son has a torn ligament in his knee so not sure how we're going to tackle it. LOL
And yes, I also have a snoopy teenager so I usually wait til the last minute w/anything I can't hide too well around here. Things that aren't too big I can hide in my refunding mess since he won't touch that, & in funky boxes in the basement since he wouldn't think to look in them & hates spiders just as bad as I do. LOL If it was something bigger &/or bulkier like a winter coat or snowpants & can w/stand the cold, I'd stow it away in a big, black trash bag in the trunk of the car. LOL

We've been living without a car for a few months and finally got it in the shop. It was the fuel pump, so I picked it up on Thursday night ($350, ouch!) and thought I would finally be able to take the kids and get a tree this weekend. Dh is out of town, but figured I would surprise him too. Do you know who got the surprise? Me! Car died friday evening and although a friend tried to jump start it, we didn't have any luck. So, I am back to no car and will probably wind up buying a tree and either trying to lug it home on the bus (which as hard as I try, I can't really picture), or I'll rig it onto DD's stroller somehow. We'll get some holiday decorations here one way or another and soon!

Did I ever mention how much I hate cars? I am hoping it just needs a new battery since it sat so long. Mechanic who fixed the fuel pump says he thinks it is likely the starter. Does anyone on here know anything about cars? It is an 89 Olds Royale I think. When we jumped it, it wouldn't even make a noise like it wanted to start. It makes a slight clicking noise when I try to start it? Sigh, oh sigh! 7|1|I put up my outside lts a few weeks ago when we had a "warming spell", just started getting a few things out-I'm going to put up my Christmas village that a dear friend gave me that has since passed on-I have a round coffee table to use & hope the cat doesn't SLIDE across it!|loopylops|zachsarah@juno.com|11:28:27|12/07/2008|

8|1|I'm in upsate ny & it's 20 degrees & the wind is sooo strong-I worry about my neighbors who had a large "branch" fall on their house months ago & 3/4 had to be REDONE & now I worry about the rest of the tree coming down again since "the person" didn't come to take it down-that would have been a PRIORITY with me|loopylops|zachsarah@juno.com|11:32:25|12/07/2008|

We usually put up our tree on Thanksgiving night, but this year we didn't do it, finally though we got it all put up and decorated a few days later. Hugs, Rebekka

It's been freezing here but hubby & daughter are braving it while I'm inside with kids, have almost everything except lights in bushes & such up & going. This year we bought almost all new airblowns, so they are a little more complicated to decorate with due to having to make sure they are secure. Inside of house has been done since day after Thanksgiving, but baby keeps redoing it for us, so by Christmas it should be quite pretty LOL!!! Now I remember why I use to put tree in playpen instead of babies!! Will say one thing power company must love us!!! Now if I could just get my shopping done!!

I am done decorating. My son got up in a good mood this morning and that is pretty rare and he decided he would help me bring the stuff in out of the garage and we put up the tree and shaped it up and he said mom if you put the hooks on the ornaments i'll put them on the tree so i didnt argue i sit down on the sofa and started putting the hooks on the ornaments and he put them on there. i had to move a few around after he went into his room because they were to close but i didnt say a word i just said oh it looks beautiful thank you so much for helping me he helped put up everything the only thing left is to put my table cloth and runner on the table and thats it. i dont put to much up because i dont like all the clutter and for me christmas now days is so commercialized.

its bitter cold here. 12|1|Will put up the tree next weekend|cfosterart|cfosterart21@yahoo.com|15:14:03|12/07/2008|

I've got some major stuff going on at work this week. I thought maybe putting up the tree and decorating next weekend would help me unwind.

Nope, I haven't decorated a thing, yet. Hopefully this week. I would really like to try a new 'layout' with the living room furniture, and I know hubby will grumble, so I am going to try and do it while he is at work. 15|1|Yup been done since Black Friday, thats what I do instead of shop lol, its an every year tradition in my house|kandywolf|kandywolf@gmail.com|18:40:27|12/07/2008|

Had the C'mas tree up last weekend, and finished decorating it a few days later. Since the divorce and 3) moves in the past 3 yrs., I've gotten rid of a lot of outside yard decorations as well as other things---just trying to simplify life more not to mention this house is smaller than what I've had in the past, so not as much storage!

My 16 yr. old and my 10 yr. old step-son put the outside decorations up Thanksgiving weekend, that Sunday. That was a super-big help, and my least favorite thing to do!! lol. We all have pretty much done our shopping, save for me...still waiting on my 19 yr. old's wishlist...grrr. Everybody's caught up on their gift wrapping, too, mostly, so we are in good shape around here!

We've been so much less stressed this holiday season; Ron & I had time to go to a movie & dinner out (just us two) this past weekend, and we've been playing C'mas music everyday! It's so nice when you can relax and enjoy the holidays!!
