Hi ladies: wow, nice place and nice weather! Please tell me what you like so much about Ormond, so I can go check it out! I am hoping to find a winter home here, if I like the area! I did it! After weeks and weeks of searching on the Internet, I had narrowed my choices down to a select few, to actually SEE. I bought a house here today!!!! WOO HOO, what a deal/steal!! I can't believe the awesome weather here compared to the North Country!!!! I wish I didn't have to go home, but home I go on Monday until the "closing" date!!!!!! I hope there's no Lake Effect snow going on in upstate NY next week!!

Everywhere I go EVERYONE is just SO friendly and nice. I get called honey, sweetie etc by smiling strangers! It's AWESOME. What a great place!!! And now I will be part of the Aberdeen community, off Clyde Morris! I already LOVE it there too! I bought a home and I have had a FANTASTIC time shopping for things to put in it! There are SO many GREAT stores. Today I found Steinmart, and several hours later I left with piles of incredible bargains! They even had all the Christmas items @ 50% off! So I bought a few things to make my new home a little Christmas-y. Tomorrow (Monday) I fly home to the cold, snowy really WINTERy weather:( The real estate transaction here closes on Dec. 23rd, so I'll soon be back. Then I'll be here til April!! I can tell already that I am going to LOVE being a Snowbird!! Joy, I hope we can get together sometime: I'd love to meet you!

I live in apartment, but would love to buy a home anywhere for a getaway house..You are a inspiration to many of us that we can do this also..My dream is to have a house in the woods, somewhere quiet and not alot of people around perhaps by a lake as I would love to be near water. The prices for houses are great right now for anyone who has the money to invest in one.. My apartment is packed with furnature and actually have enough pieces that could be moved to help furnish another home, I refuse to get rid of the furnature I have as I been saving it for another home...guess that helps me keep my dream alive till it comes true.

Wow, what a shock I got in Syracuse NY, when the 2 1/2 hour flight from Orlando landed! It didn't help that I couldn't recall what parking level I left my van on!!! LOL. Finally I hit the road, only to discover the dangerous SNOW/ICE etc. Thank God I had planned to stay overnight in Syr!!!! It snowed quite a bit overnight, and I had to completely clear off my van before leaving the parking lot this morning! From Watertown NY up, there was a "wintery mix" of sleet, snow etc, and the roads were not the best, but I am home now! Phew, what a trip! I think I'll sleep in tomorrow!! LOL. I am SO ready to live down there in FL!!!!!
THANKS a million: I really appreciate your suggesting Ormond Beach!! You are a real angel, and I hope that we can be friends as well as neighbors. The real estate transaction closes Dec. 23rd, so I will be there anytime after that, at least until the end of April.

P.S. need any cpns from Sunday???? I won't be using most of them, and I bought two different papers to see what they were like. The only one that excites me is the $1/1 rice. I can RAOK any you need. I have 2 of most, but one paper had more coupons than the other.

I LOVED that so many stores already have their Christmas stuff at 50% off!!!! And I found GREAT deals on stuff I will need for the house. since it is EMPTY! It would be just too costly to try and bring stuff down, with the airlines now charging for every piece of luggage, and I don't have much to spare either, since I will still need most of it here.
Anyway, Joy, I hope you are enjoying all the GREAT pre-holiday sales there!

Wow, there are SO many things to take care of, when setting up a new home! I am pooped! But it is going extremely well since I have only owned this house for a week today! And what a gloriously beautiful (weather) week it has been! A friend came down with me for the first couple of weeks, to help. On Sunday we drove to St Augustine, and had a great time. What a beautiful OLD city! I am SO impressed with this entire area! THANK YOU so much for suggesting it!!!!! I owe you BIG time!!
