Hi everyone I know I haventbeen on here for ages! I just have not really had access. I was wondering if anyone may have any information that could help us save our home. We are facing forclosure. It is a pretty long story, but we thought everythign was set to save it, that is what we were told in October. They were pretty much going to open a new mortgage for what we owed. We basically had to do the application process over again, and the only differnce was they didnt pull our credit. We were set to go, and they said our first payment was due Nov. 1st. WEll aboutmid Oct. we got our cashiers check back for the processing fees, when I called to question it, they told be it was becasue something had kicked the application out, and they would have an underwriter get in contact with me. I then asked if I should send the nov. pmt. She informedme NOT to and said not to send ituntil we get the letter in the mail saying congrats your 1st pmt is due this day. Ok so the following day an underwriter called and told me that it was an error on one of the papers where my slash mark in "N/A" had run onto the 2nd line, I needed to white that out and refax, so I did, again I was advised to hang onto the cashiers check and NOT send a payment. So fast forward to mid november, I get a phonecall fromthe gentlman working on our case. He advises me that my income isnt sufficiant for the loan, and that I need to have my november pmt in....I explained that I was told by 2 people NOT to send that in. I also told him I had better stubs and I would fax them immdeatly. He agreed and told me to send in my nov. AND december payment. I told hi, I could send the nov. but didnt have the dec yet. He agreed. Well I just got a call on Tuesday and said that we did now qualify, but the noterized paper is wrong and Ihave to have that redone...I told him I wouldnt be able to get that completed until next week, and he said that is fine as long as I overnite it. Ok fine
well yesterday I got a call and they said the loan can not be approved for lack of income??? I questioned it becasue I was under the understanding it WAS approved.....
so it looks as though we could be homeless!! HOMELESS! I am beyond devistated I dont know where to turn now.....does anyone have any ideas what I could do? I mean this is just not good not good at all!!

This whole process has been utterly stressful. I have tried to be strong for my kids, but I k now they know what is going on. My 4 year old has been VERY clingy to me lately!

12|2|First, I am so sorry for the circumstances you are in. Second, pull yourself together. While the loss of your home is devastating and I am in no way minimizing that....you need to pull it together. You don't have to be homeless...you have to start figuring out where you are going. looking for rentals....figuring out the best way to stretch the assets you have for a first/last months rent and security. You don't have to end up homeless. I don't own my home, but I am not homeless.....I just RENT it. It will be important for your family and kids for you to have the right perspective and start again. I know it's scary and sometimes there seems to be no hope, but have faith. What Barb said is true, you can try and find a place to rent. We didn't own our home, but we were renting and the landlord was raising our rent almost $600 more due to her mortgage rate, well we couldn't afford it and panicked too, then we started to think and try and find a place, it was hard to find a place with not so great credit, but we finally ended up renting an almost 40 foot travel trailer at a campground. Yeah it wasn't the Ritz or anything and some people look down on you, but it was a home to us and our family. It did have two bedrooms, so that was a plus for us. It was a trailer that you can tow, but it was in a campground and it wasn't so bad. I never met so many friendly people than I did there. There were about a dozen other full timers there and some snowbirds. When we lived in our big fancy house we were renting, the neighbors were all snobs. Anyways we stayed in that trailer for almost 20 months, it really was a lifesaver for us. We also lost our truck this year cause when my hubby got cancer, he lost his job and everything and it was so hard for us, our church donated an old van to us and we were so grateful. It wasn't all fancy and people laughed at it sometimes, but hey it got us to and from where we needed to go. Anyways I'm not good with words, but just wanted to say hang in there and have faith. Even though it does stink to lose your house, there are many that are homeless due to not having a job or money to restart again, consider yourself lucky that you at least have the morgage payment to rebuild your life so you will not be homeless. I have been homeless in the past, no job or no money and was still able to get on my feet again and a single mom with baby in tow.

Our local Countrywide has gotten in alot of trouble for bad loans and closed ALOT of their offices. I guess I would call around locally, including the attorney who did your title opinion if you had one done, and seek suggestions. Surely, someone will have some ideas for you to try.
Also, not a question for the OP, but just a question in general= why do people foreclose instead of file for bankrupcy? I thought that if you did the latter, they could not take your home and other 'necessities'?
