This person bought this item, I am in USA they are in Canada...before they bid they asked how much more shipping would be I said I was not sure so I guessed....they still bought the item when I went to the po it was more the buyer paid for it with no problem and now they are leaving me negative feed back for having to pay more shipping...that is unfair. otherwise my feed back is 100%

This Seller sent me a message on October 20th, 2008 stating that she needed my full address to find out how much the postage would cost to Canada. I sent her the information, but she didn't get back to me for a quote before the bid ended. As I needed this book for an essay, I went ahead and bid on it because the Seller sent me a message on October 14th, 2008 stating that she wasn't sure how much the postage would cost, but that it should only be a few dollars more than the US postage. This Seller had six days to find out how much the postage would cost, but she still didn't get back to me. When the package arrived, the postage on the label stated that it only cost her $8.56 to ship the item, but she charged me $13.00. The US shipping listed in her item description was set at $3.00, yet I was charged $13.00, which is obviously more than a few dollars above the US shipping price. The feedback I left was factual.

AM Did I EVER say I knew EXACTLY how much shipping was?? NO I didnt I used your address to see if I could figure it out online thrugh the usps web sight....why would it be fair for me to have to go out of my way up to the post office figure stand in line (during holiday season) figure out EXACT SHIPPING just to come back and see if you still wanted to buy it...........no I gave my best guess and so I over shot the price a by about 4 dollars (shipping to canada is MUCH MUCH more expensive than shiping to usa where I am at) People over charge for shipping ALL OF THE TIME on ebay ............when i told you the price you never said that seemed unfair or anything to that face YOU ARE THE ONE WHO DECIDED TO BID WITHOUT GETTING FULL INFORMATION
1|1|If she agreed to the postage amount at the time of the sale, then I dont get it...also, what I notice on ebay is the shipping amount figured is worded as "shipping and handling" almost all the time....so the extra would be a handling fee....not that I love that myself as a very infrequent buyer on ebay, but it is valid. I am not an ebay expert, but as a buyer I wouldnt dispute it if I agreed to it at the time of the sale.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|09:08:18|11/27/2008|

4|2|Didn't you have to fill out a custom form? That is a PITB to do and frankly, is part of the "handling." First off, she shouldn't have bid unless she was clear on what the total cost would be. Can you get her neg removed? Did she ask for a refund before neg'ing you?|Sara_s_Mom|IClipCoupons@gmail.com|09:41:59|11/27/2008|

no she did not contact me b4 putting neg feed back she just put it up there 6|1|Hm.. did you say USA only in your ad? I say this b/c if I list, I don't want the huge hassle for customs forms (or buyers who want me to lie on those forms and say the item only cost X dollars when it was far more...) I don't see the big deal... you are right; people do over charge all of the time on eBay and she even said she bid on it anyway because she needed it. She bid on it without a firm figure, which is her own problem. Feedback can't be mutually resolved and removed, can it? If it can, I'd split the difference and make her go away. But she said she needed it, so she took that risk. I've paid a lot for shipping only to find the shipping label significantly less... I didn't neg someone for that as I agreed to the shipping price when I bid.|Sara_s_Mom|IClipCoupons@gmail.com|22:58:29|11/27/2008|

But of course she has to agree to it first. And you're limited to only 5 requests per year which probably isn't a factor for you if you don't sell too much.

Bottom line, she should have asked you for a refund before giving you a neg. to at least give you a chance to rectify the situation.

If you'd be willing to refund the difference of what was charged versus what the postage actually cost, I would do that and then ask her to retract the negative. No guarantees that she'll do it, but it's worth a try. Small sellers on ebay right now can't afford a negative - you can get suspended for seller nonperformance after just a couple of negatives if you don't have a lot of sales to absorb the negs. There's a form, I believe, that you fill out and send to the buyer (use the help section to find it). Good luck!

Lauren

ps. ebay won't remove your feedback just because it isn't fair - they don't care what the situation is, if you have proof, etc

I hated it when someone would charge me $15 to ship something and it only cost them $8. I figured they
raised the shipping and handling fees to cover their ebay fees. Because normal you can find box frees all
over the place and tape is cheap.

Nothing again you...but I would personal refund the diff.

If she was selling you something and that happened to you...would feel the same way?

Happy trading
Michelle 8|1|SHipping is a gamble on Ebay, I always think of the price of the item, as lbid price + shipping. If I feel i am still getting a good deal, shipping included, I will buy it. But most of the time, postage turns out to be less. Again, to me, it just part of the price I am willing to pay. Now on another note, you may not want to keep the neg on you rrecord, so may want to suck it up, and refund, the difference. Donna|dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|12:14:47|11/28/2008|
