I have direct pay medical insurance through Univera. I received a notice in the mail today that the premium is going from $778 per MONTH to $973 per month.
This insurance is just for me -- DH is on Medicare.
Anybody else have direct pay insurance? Do you pay that much for your premium?
I am just sick to my stomach. My pension from my job after working 36 years before the company closed is only $681 so it does not even cover my medical insurance. What are people supposed to do?

And most of that was said to be "an age milestone".
Oh, yippee! Like that's some sort of excuse for them to raise med. insurance.
Only $18 was said to be a "cost increase".
Poop on em. I raised my deductable $1500 more so now I'm at the max deductable of $2500 and the cost then went "down" $75/month. I'm sure next year they will ream me for more.
I feel your pain...mines not quite as much as yours but it still hurts my wallet.
Plus on Dec 1 all of our utility rates go up and Jan 1 my HOA dues increase $25/month. I'm gonna be eating tons of soup and other cheap coupon food and turing the heat down a few more degrees....like 62 isn't already cold enough!

Seriously,,,,almost $1,000 a month to ensure ONE person?????? That's horrible and makes my blood boil when I think of how many non citizens get free care.....that's sad.
