Ok, I'm not creative at all. I took some brown construction paper, cut it in a strip to fit around the head, cut a feather shape for the kids to trace. After they cut out their feathers (3) I had them fringe the edges and then glue them to the headband.

Any ideas other than just coloring and decorating the headband and/or feathers.
BTW the kiddos are first graders and we only have tomorrow to work on them.
Thanks, any help appreciated.

1|1|You could have them glue pinto beans or kidney beans on them or colored macaroni :)|RebekkaVA|queen_vulture@msn.com|22:23:50|11/23/2008|

You could sketch out a eagle outline on the front, and glue the beads over that. If you have yarn handy you can thread some plastic beads, glue one end of yarn to the bottom of the headband and finish off string of beads with another feather, pushed up and glued in the last bead on the yarn. So they dangle down and when completed have a single string of beads with feathers on each side of the headband.

**Just realized your using paper feathers, sorry I read your post too fast. You can paint the paper feathers white, and then just the tips(where the feathering is) paint it black so they will look like eagle feathers. 3|1|generic fruit loops this way they can glue and have a snack at the same time as long as they dont snack the ones with the glue lol.|nancygal|brennansnanna@hotmail.com|09:38:19|11/24/2008|

I just had them decorate the feathers and headband with Indian designs using crayons and markers. They are only first graders and it doesn't take much to excite them. We had a dress rehearsal this afternoon to make sure everything fit, so far it's all good...lol
