11 0|0|What cream is good for extremely dry and cracked hands?|mimom|amyinmi8888@yahoo.com|21:03:15|11/21/2008|
My friend has severely dry and cracked hands ( for working in the kitchen, she has to wash her hands all the time). I want to get her some hand cream for Christmas. What brand do you recommend? Tia!

I have eczema and when my hands get very bad I do this: plain vaseline, slather in and put on old cotton gloves and sleep with them on, works so well. As far as a cream, I actually use corn huskers lotion during the day, hope that helps~ 2|1|My hands are like that all the time..|Skaytes|skaytez@gmail.com|21:11:26|11/21/2008|
think it's due to bum thyroid and best I have found to help them (and rest of my body as well due to extreme dryness) is Aveeno. Not greasy, keeps skin soft and sucks right into your skin..doesn't just 'lay' on top of the skin and I have tried just about everything out there on the market. Other thing that works well but I personally just don't like the smell is Cornhuskers lotion..farmers swear by it and it has been around for years. Does the trick though! :) 3|1|pretty hands & feet or eucerin ... |BriansMommy|mommytobrian04@aol.com|21:48:40|11/21/2008|
both work for me :o) 4|1|Udder balm (m)|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|21:59:38|11/21/2008|
& if she can tolerate it, apply the Udder Balm at night & then put on a pair of thin, soft gloves as it helps hold the moisturizer in.
Farmers & mechanics swear by this stuff for their hands/feet when they're dry, cracked & rough. ;)

usually comes in a green square tin. We always have it on hand here as well.. 6|3|I like Eucerin also, I get really dry/cracked hands in the winter and that works the best for me, I sleep with the cream on and works great overnight.|HONEY11|HONEY1@AMERITECH.NET|22:23:54|11/21/2008|

8|2|I second the Gold Bond (Ultimate Healing kind here though)|bluh2oeyes|bluh2oeyes@yahoo.com|07:36:41|11/22/2008|
I use the Gold Bond Ultimate Healing and so does my father.
It's not greasy and soaks in pretty fast. I use it on my hands, elbows and dad puts it on his hands and knees.
Bag Balm is good too but greasy and not very nice to smell (IMO).
Dad has a friend in the concrete business and his hands get really, really dry...he uses tons of any lotion since he says it doesn't stay on long because he's washing it away not long after he puts it on.
So if your friend washes her hands alot you may want to get a nice big bottle of a general lotion for frequent use and something else more intense and a pair of white cotton gloves for night treatment.
