My Neice was working part time for 6 years at this company and she was told today that they need a full timer for the job and she does not want to work part time can she get unemployment when they hire the full timer and then she is out of a job??? She asked me Iam not sure what do you all think

and already had him in daycare during the day, and I said I was not interested in more hours as I wanted to be able to spend time with my son. They fired me because of that, and unemployment took my side me being a single mom and having a valid reason for wanting time with my son, my job had to pay up and give me unemployment. If she has children or has other obligations that keep her from working more hours then unemployment will give her the checks.

I called unemployment here and they told me that I was eligibile for unemployment for the difference in the hours even though I am still working for the employer.

She can't quit... they need to either say she is fired or laid off.

IF you just up and quit your job for any reason.. you'll be denied unemployment.
