One of my best friends is leaving for basic training for the army this week. I want to put together a goodie box (or two) to mail to her but I know there are some things she can't have and some things she will need. I just don't know what! LOL So if any of you have known someone who has gone through basic, could you make suggestions, please. She is 23 and is headed to South Carolina.

We have garter snakes and in a few areas some rattlers but that's about it around here.

Yes, they have big snakes! Black snakes and bull snakes mostly.
It's been 14 years since I was there, WOW, it's hard to believe it's been that long.
So I'm not sure that I would be of any help, I am sure things have changed a lot.
And I was there in July/August, so my big thing was battling the heat.
My mom sent me a lot of letters which I really needed and some of my favorite snacks.
