I had errands to run & grocery shopping to do earlier. Got back in time to eat lunch & wanted to take a nap but it was too late by that time. LOL Am now watching Dr. Doolittle 2, fiddling w/some refunding & checking the board before I go pick up my mom for the Poultry Fest.
It's cold outside w/a few flurries so is nice to be snug inside right now. ;) I'm burning a Christmas tree scented candle & it sure smells good. Helps put me in the holiday spirit. :)

Been going w/my parents since I was a kid. The area VFW's & American Legions put them on every Nov. & Dec. so not only is it a great idea to have Bingo for food but the proceeds always go to a very good cause. The proceeds from tonight will go to our troops. :) It's usually for turkeys, hams & chickens but some of the other VFW's/Legions also have duck, blocks of cheese, rolls of summer sausage & steaks, & one of the VFW's even has pickled herring! LOL You can pass on that tho, choose something else or trade w/someone. ;)

Since I'm a major homebody, these Poultry Fests are something I really look forward to at this time every year. Because of that, the food & all the proceeds going for a very worthy cause, I never feel any guilt over the $$$ I spend. ;)
Believe it or not, tonight's Fest is being sponsored by the American Legion but is at the VFW. I think it's so cool that they're all working together for it. :)

My day so far....
I made breakfast. I did a couple loads of laundry (and hung them outside because my dryer is just totally shot), made lasagna (not from scratch, a party size stouffers that I got on sale much cheaper than I could have made it myself, I love those), made fudge and will freeze at least half the batch for next month. Then I washed way too many dishes and realized that I was the only one in the family who was working, so I kicked dh off the computer and came here for a break. In between all that I also walked to the store for bread. I'd say that it has been a busy day, but it is beautiful weather-wise. It felt like it was close to 70 out there.
Tonight one daughter is ushering a play at school, and I will have to think of something to keep the other two busy.
Funny gracie story of the day. Her older sister found a caterpillar and carefully got it onto newspaper so she could swish it outside. As she was doing this, G was watching. Her sister said, "Sorry buddy", as she set him on his way out the front door. Gracie yelled, "I don't like you, BUDDY!" We won 2 turkeys (1 is 12+ lbs. & the other is 13 + lbs.) & a nice, whole Farmland ham. :) Had to do some quick organizing in my freezer. LOL
Now today there's another Poultry Fest in the neighboring town, this one put on by their VFW. We've faithfully gone every year so if the weather cooperates, we plan to go to this one too. ;) It snowed a little bit sometime during the night tho & is lightly snowing right now, mainly sticking to the roads.... I don't care about winning anything but just really enjoy this one the most as it's more laid back w/lots of laughs. ;)
