I know my husband and son hunt and they love it. The part that I hate is the craziness it causes in our house on very early saturday mornings. I dont think for everyone its a "drunk" fest. I know when my husband plans to hunt the night before he does not drink at all and he does not ever drink when he is hunting..

So like I said I do hate it and I dont hate it.

Please dont slam me for my opinions.

We live in a huge hunting area. If you are eating it, I guess that's one thing, but as a "sport" not for me.

My husband and my 14 year old son are hunters. I don't mind deer season at all. They get up early enough in the morning that they are in their sitting spot before it gets light, but they get up, get ready and leave and respect the fact that the rest of don't want to be up at 3 am and are very quiet about it. They go out and are gone until dark, (on the weekends). and they go out around the school/work schedule also.

They don't go to deer camp and get involved in all the drinking and partying, they are their own little hunting team and hunt right at home.

My son is a perfect shot with a bow and got his 1st deer last year during bow season :)

When we do have one I do all the cutting and wrapping myself and we have absolutely no waste, I save every last scrap I can off them.

My husband and son are hunting this weekend, I am not sure how other states do it but we have what they call youth weekend, it's the weekend before the regular rifle season opens and youth hunters can go out with a licensed adult hunter, (the adult cannot hunt or be armed).

My son is all about hunting, it's all he does and all he talks about, every day after school he goes out hunting squirrels and partridge, and I actually like it because I know he isn't hanging out on the street, or out trying drugs and alcohol like some kids.

I don't agree with those that do drink and hunt, or use getting together for deer season as an excuse for a big drunken fest, I think when people are going out in the woods with a weapon they should have all of their wits about them. 11|2|Glad to see my family are not the only hunters here...(M)|kthy26|kthy26@yahoo.com|08:22:13|11/09/2008|

My son and husband both are very avid hunters the only thing they hunt that I hate is geese. I hate the taste of goose YUCKKKKKKKK. but they have friends that hunt with them that take what they shoot. We do all the processing of all of the other meat they get and nothing wasted here either.

I think that hunters get a "bad" name because some of the hunters do bad things. I know when my family plans on hunting they do no drinking at all the night before or during hunting. Now maybe when they get back home to celebrate there kill they older ones might have a little drink.

My son shot his 1st deer last year it was a 7pt
