I had applied for & gotten a Dayton's cc about 25 yrs. ago but I never used it. Believe it or not it used to show up as a bad mark on my credit history cuz I'd never used it. :-p Fortunately, it's long gone off of there now. No checks but I have a debit card & otherwise only deal w/cash or mo anymore.

using my rebate checks, as medical card has'nt come in yet. Plus was able to buy some patterns(LIKE THE PRESS N PLAY DOLL) on e-bay that I wanted to make up stuff for kids x-mas presents.I don't have any cc except for my cc debit pay pal, so I am not tempted to spend more money than what I have. I use that debit card to purchase stuff on and off line, or pay cash for everything. Looking to a more prosperous year ahead..

also, if you've had the card for a long time it's better to leave it open as it gives you more history on your report. closing too many accounts at once can terribly hurt your credit ratnings. hth :)

Don't close the card...it's much better for your credit score if you keep it open and then only use it a few times a year and pay each in full as soon as the bill arrives. Buy something like a tank of gas or a cart of groceries that you would otherwise pay cash for. Set that cash aside for when the bill arrives and when it does pay it in full with that stash you saved to pay the bill! This will help to boost your credit score when you use and pay in full no matter how small the amount.

on the subject and will wait a bit I can't use it for any purchase's as I cut it up and it has been gone for more than a month I haven't had it for a long time either so it won't really eefect me I still have 3 others that are active
