patrick's boss let everyone at work know that he is NOT going to cut anyone from the staff, however, they all will be cut from 40 hours a week to 32. also, they have had to cancel the christmas party orginally scheduled for the 13th of debember, and they have also cancelled the next 2 BIG jobs that were lined up for november and december, thus, they will not be getting a christmas bonus this year either. (we had not been planning on receiving a christmas bonus anyway as work has been really slow this year so that was no surprise.) the surprise is the cut in hours. wow, that's really gonna hurt. kwim?

That is a pretty big difference in hours! Does he also get any benefits and will it affect them?
I'm sorry that is happening to you!
My dh got a call yesterday letting him know that the nonprofit he works for (one of 3 jobs, this one brings in the most money he makes at a single job) ran out of money again (not the first time).
We're not sure if he will get a paycheck for his month (Oct, the hours he already worked) or if we will have to wait for it. The economy has been tough on non-profits. The grants they used to be able to count on are disappearing. I was all stressed about the check situation last night and decided I just have to let it go and see what happens because it is out of my control.
We'll all be okay somehow or another!
