Boy, with all this Socialism/Marxism talk lately that is moving way too fast and more of a reality if Obama is elected, I'm posting this link from Rush Limbaugh's website that there is talk of taking 401K's, pensions, social security away from us to be owned by our govt! What has this country come to? My husband and I were talking about this today and said if Obama is going to be our next President which most likely will be, we just might live on a boat somewhere or move out of the country to keep our freedoms instead of moving to NH as originally planned!! I do know that there are about 250K Americans moving out of this country every year. We certainly don't want to stay here if they continue to tell us what foods to eat, vaccinations to take, give us pharma drugs, take away our vitamins etc.,taxing us to death and certainly do not want socialized healthcare. It's just so sad how our country has fallen apart and become so filthy corrupt. Our forefathers must be spinning in their graves. God help us.

The Obamas donated a little higher percentage, I think it was in the 5 percent range, but if you ask me it doesn't even touch what they make a year. To me this says a lot. You say you want to help people in need, but what are you doing with your own wealth?

I feel like I have been in constant prayer for months now over this election....I awoke this am, tired, but feeling an overwhelming need to get up and pray. I think besides voting and respectfully giving our opinions, that praying is all we can do right now...Some that don't believe in prayer or God can bash me, but, you would not bother me at all, because I know where I stand....I know we are all worried about our families future and everything else in between...I PRAY with everything in me that this country will wake up and seek God for answers during this time.....Vote with their "gut"..

I've been legally blind since birth.
I have used every tool at my disposal to achieve my goals.
I hear very differently then most with sight and feel things with me heart that most sighted people miss.
Last night as Mr Obama spoke of asking Americans to be accountable by conserving energy and being more responsible I wondered.
Would the lights be turned off and the heat turned down in the private quarters of the White House?
Would his children go without anything?
As he spoke of the money we have spent in Iraq which we know saved a country from the tyranny of a ruthless dictator and insurgent terrorists who tried to fill the vacuum and how it could have been spent on our economy I wondered.
How many homes could have been saved just from the money he has spent on his campaign.
When Joe Biden said Obama will be tested within six months by a crisis to see what he's made of and that he has a spine made of steel I asked myself.
Where was that spine of steel when he sat in Reverend Wrights church for 20 years listening to the hatred of our country and never once stood up and said "I will not listen to or have my children hear this hatred from the pulpit"?
Mr Obama speaks of sitting at Khalidi's kitchen table having many discussions as Khalidi's wife Mona cooked for them.
They babysat the Obama children so they were not just someone in his neighborhood.
He worked on boards with Bill Ayers.
He thought of Reverend Wright as an uncle.
Frank Davis was a close friend of his Grandparents and of his as a young man.
Tony Resco backed him in his political career.
The more time we spend around someone the more they influence our thinking and shape our ideology.
That leads me to question how much Bill Ayers,Reverend Wright Rashid Khalidi,Tony Resco and even Louis Ferricon and Frank Davis must have influenced him.
The final analysis is that he had no patriotic Americans as his friends but rather socialist Communist terrorist connected and criminal friends.
Those ideologies are the ones he would bring to the White House.
My husband proudly serves this country as a member of the U.S. Air Force.
I am the leader of a military wives support group.
We support John McCain because he represents the patriotism that made this country great.
He will not bring socialism,comunism or terrorism into the White House.

i have gone to many dinners/celebrations at my friends house during this time you fast all day and at dusk/dark you eat huge triditional meals i have been a reciepiate of a ramadan gift(these are given like doantions to people in need) even though i am not muslim ,my children have attended the mosusq(place of worship) wearing the trideitional hajab(hair covering ) and long sleeved top. we celebrate christmas muslikms celebrate eid ,as for borthdays the familys i know do celebrate birthdays but with no gifts usually a family party i have given them gifts and theya re excepted with out hard fellings please read and know the facts have a great day teri

For me spending money to build up iraq is wrong when we need to spend the money here. We are bankrupting our own country to benefit private companies like Halliburton and for the benefit of them and some other country and we cannot afford it and our kids will not be able to afford it.
When Greenspan recommended deregulating banks thinking trickle down would work he was a fool and we can see what the banks did to regular
homeowneers and inveesment owners, and to the economy in the end. I saw Greenspan apologize on TV and say he was surprised.
I am not surprised because greed knows no bounds. Which is why there does need to be SOME regulation, and which is why we need a change.
We as a nation cannot continue to pretend that the wealthy business class has regular middle class americans needs in mind when they
cut health insurance benefits, salaries and working hours. And when americans protest they move these jobs to places where they can exploit
a whole new set of people meanwhile leaving many unemployed americans and american consumers unable to get help on help lines answered in India.
Why is it that we complain about the few people that get welfare - and make no mistake it is HARD to get any help these days, many people on this
board have seen this in the past 8 Bush years as American salaries have declined and the cost of living steadily increases due to corporate pricing
on most things we need to live and survive. Why is corporate welfare not frowned upon the same way? Is it because in the court of public opinion it's people of color that get regular 'welfare' and WASP rich guys that get corporate welfare?
For instance when we made banking and wall street totally private we made them the owners of our wealth and all of the profits were PRIVATE;
when they got greedier and caused this collapse we bailed them out with 700 Billion and counting and made their DEBT a PUBLIC ownership- we are now paying the debt of corporations and rich CEOS and this costs far more than the little bit of money 'welfare' costs. Why is this bailout not
called WELFARE for the rich, that is exactly what it is.
If we had a decent, honest candidate I would gladly vote for him/her but imho we do not have even one- McCain and Palin have both shown serious
character defects and Obama/Biden show a serious niavete IMHO. The McCain campaign has slung mud while pretending not to do it and the Obama campaign has been cowardly in addressing the issues as they really are IMHO. I think there should be discussion of the mess Bush has made of the economy in the pursuit of this war (I support our troops not the BUSH lies that got us into this unwinnable war. We all know that the minute we leave Iraq it'll go
back to the way it was because you cannot legislate or enforce change if you are not there to make it happen). To continue on in these ways is the
McCain promise yet he talks about making a change. This, IMHO, is a lie on the magnitude of Hitler's final solution.

about his 'friends' is a not so hard to see through racist set of smoke screens. I do NOT think he will win in the end due to the American character of racism, and this is not news to me or anyone else who reads the thinly veiled comments I often see on the board. The right wing vitriol in the past two weeks or so is crystal clear. Everyone has the right to express an opinion but it is also clear that some of what we see here is totally and completely untrue but will be believed by the person who has a predisposition to believe lies about a person simply because he or she is 'different'. I used to believe that as a country we would overcome this defect of character but I no longer believe this. Recognizing America's shortcomings does not make
me a bad American, NO MATTER WHAT BUSH and his supporters say. What would make me a bad American would be to do nothing while evil men succeed in
their plans, and lets face it, we are all suffering from the evil of the rich controlling our economy and 95% of this country's wealth. When a relatively small number of people control most of the resources you get a recession but greedy people don't understand this. For the economy to prosper money has to move around.
Why is it NOT ok to ask those that can to help out while there is a need? Why are people who are barely making a living worrying about
the income taxes of someone making over $250,000 a year? Do you think they are worrying about you and your taxes? You don't have to agree with me but some of these posts need addressing they are so outrageous. Hopefully some of these recently linked sites will be taken down because they are out-
and out slander (or is it libel?).
Whatever else you think it is an undeniable fact that the trickle down republican ideals never work and have put our country in a financial bind. If McCain gets elected, which I think he will, he will continue down this path of financial ruin because it is based in the needs of the wealthy few. If
he does get elected and things get worse we will only be getting what we deserve for voting him in.

we all know people to some degree more or less. just because I know someone who holds extreme views is no reason to suppose that I hold those same views
and if I served on a board with someone I did not know all that well (which I have done) why is it that I am responsible for what they believe? Also in my mind one of the best things about REALLY being an American is the freedom to hold a different (even if radical) point of view. IMHO this is what makes us different from all the crazies (like the PLO or Al-Qaeda or Bin Laden (btw I think we did kill him a while ago)). Just because a person holds an extremist point of view everything he does is criminal or bad? Everyone he or she knows agrees with him 100% and is a bad person for knowing him or her?
Let me turn this around. ILet's say I have friends that are rabid racists, so that makes me a rabid racist? If they go around spouting racist crap that makes ME look bad because we work in the same place or belong to the same political group or sit on the same boards? And the media has the right to then say that they are friends and loyal followers and supporters of mine if I run for office? What is right about this kind of smear campaign?

"I spent as much time with Cindy in Washington and Arizona as our jobs would allow," McCain wrote. "I was separated from Carol, but our divorce would not become final until February of 1980."
An examination of court documents tells a different story. McCain did not sue his wife for divorce until Feb. 19, 1980, and he wrote in his court petition that he and his wife had "cohabited" until Jan. 7 of that year -- or for the first nine months of his relationship with Hensley.
Although McCain suggested in his autobiography that months passed between his divorce and remarriage, the divorce was granted April 2, 1980, and he wed Hensley in a private ceremony five weeks later. McCain obtained an Arizona marriage license on March 6, 1980, while still legally married to his first wife.

In each of us we all know the true reasons for our vote choice..instead of all these smoke screens just vote and you will have to sleep at night living with your choice and your personal reasons for doing so.....

One thing my non minority coworker told me today was if Obama was so bad why in the world would so many endorse him..(Powell, Ted Kennedy(put Kennedy second because I know when some read Powell they would immediately come up with "its because he is black...well Ted Kennedy isnt black(LOL))...... My coworker lives in a very high society neighborhood here in Jax (Avondale on the river)and her Obama signs have been spray painted, stolen, and sliced. Her dh finally put the signs on the roof. She is one of few with an Obama sign in her neighborhood. All of the area neighbors have had their Obama signs vandalized and stolen...NONE of the McCain/Palin signs have been touched.....its just really sad.....

it's as simple as that, no problem for me. How can a story like this be substantiated? It's NOT possible like so much of the other smear stuff... what has not been published are the times Obama campaign hq's have been spray painted with the 'N' word and windows smashed and offices ransacked and damaged... Obama kept this out of the news and for a long time I thought it was because he was a punk. Now I understand that even that kind of stuff would have been turned against him and some folks would have said he did it himself or his supporters did, I bet. Just like that McCain supporter pretended that a BLack man robbed her at an ATM because she worked for McCain (was wearing a McCain shirt).
