Take at least $100 in change, singles, fives and tens, and quarters etc according to your prices on your products. If you have biz cards made up make sure you put them out on your table to pass out and also tag them on your items for repeat customers.

** I found that just laying things out flat on the table is hard for people across at another table to see, you want to display items in a rack or something so they stand up, get peoples attention to want to come over and check out your stuff.

** A cute biz banner across the front of table to grab peoples attention, looks more proffesional also than just a plain table clothed table. If you don't have biz name, use velvet material as your table cloth, red or black are my favorite, just looks more nicer than a cotton table cloth.

**some things I do that you might consider, I pass out free goodie bags to everyone that comes to my table, they contain samples from other wahm's as well as a free little gift from my biz.

** Might want to consider doing a free drawing and give away something small(value $10 or less) I find that when people are filling out their entry info, they scan my products, ask questions, comment and often times end up buying something, as they think it is a "nice" jesture that I am offering to give away something for free.(which most other crafters at events don't do)

** The best advice I can give is DO NOT SIT DOWN A LOT. I find this body language really does affect peoples sales, sitting back and not interacting with people is not a good way to sell your products..Stand up behind your table, smile and be friendly...act excited about your products and really promote them.

** Take a cooler with you packed with snacks, drinks and a meal if it's going to be a long day.

** If you can have someone go with you, that would be great, a extra person to not only help with customers, but someone to watch your table while you go to the bathroom and someone to watch table at the end of event while you go get your car to pack up.

** Don't overcrowd your table with items, display 1 or two of each item you make, if you make in different colors same things, keeps those aside, I just let people know if they are interested in something it is available in a different size, color etc..Over crowded tables look too cluttered, distracting on the eye and can be overwhelming.

I know one gal who does strictly flea markets, all over chicago, she does many events and has flyers she passes out to customers so they know what event she will be at next. I plan on using her tip this spring, as I want to do a lot of craft shows and flea markets, and it is a great idea to let people know where you will be if they need a product or just want to see what you have new for sale.

Grocery stores will often give you lots of new bags free if you ask them, I tell them I am doing a craft show and need bags, they give me them as it is a great way for them to promote there store name for cheap..

from Tupperware, Mary Kay, Avon, etc. display. I am selling hand embroidered dish towel sets and pillowcase sets, crocheted children's sweaters and baby hats. I am also taking my Discovery Toys. A friend of mine is displaying with me and she does glass painting.

BrendaLee 14|2|I found over the year sthat mixing doesn't work By that I mean if it is a craft fair that is only what should be sold handmade crafts Nothing else |teener|teenerzacsneenee@yahoo.com|23:04:30|11/18/2008|

es[ flea market items as people buying then do not look at your items as good quality they are looking for deals and bargain prices If you can in a juried show they are the best 13|1|My DH just bought me a sewing machine so I can do even more crafts! BrendaLee 15|2|I agree with teener, I prefer only hand made craft shows. If it's called a craft show, then it should be just that.|HONEY11|HONEY1@AMERITECH.NET|23:33:34|11/18/2008|

I have'nt ventured into flea market types yet, but might try some this summer as "my spys" have told me no one has products like mine or anything near like them, the flea market I am thinking of doing has all the craft people sectioned off in their own area, which I like. Congrats on getting a sewing machine, I would be lost without my sewing machines..I have 2 of them..and use them both for different types of sewing. They are great for mending clothes as well as to make clothes for adults and children and making many crafts..I use my machines everyday, and one I will put in my will as it is older than anyone here on the board and is a beaut.
