Went for an appointment 2 weeks ago about her hearing aid. Left ear is back to normal but the right ear is 40-60% hearing lost. The lady tells me about a program that will help us with the medical expenses if she qualifies for it and she does because she has no income. To get all my paperwork together and come to the health department on 10-22. Well, I did that yesterday with Marissa. Had all my ducks in a row. Talked with another lady. Left at 4:30 and went to the mall to meet my DH and DS,DD and at 4:50 got a phone call and she qualifies for the school for the deaf and the blind. Hearing because she is below the scale of 20 and the eyes because of the Duanes syndrome she has. I don't know what to say. I am very thankful for the help but I don't want to make her disability a handicap for her. She can hear to some point. I guess I need to get into the program and let them help me along. The program in Babynet now the next step is to send in paperwork for the Tefra program. If anyone has used these programs please email me before I have a nervous break down.

Glad to hear she will get what she needs. I have no experience in the programs that you asked about so I hope someone else here can help. If not, google forums for the hearing impared/sight impared and post there for help. I'm sure you'll get a flood of responses.
By the way, my little one, age 4, has been saying she 'can't hear really well' and blasts tv, radio and computer. I have to take her in to check it out. She doesn't talk really clear so this might be related. We had her tested when she was 2 1/2 and they said it was fine, but I have had a little doubt. Now she's old enough to say whats wrong.
