I keep getting these nasty smelly bacterial infections one right after the other. They've had me on every pill and cream/suppository there is and nothing works! I use Ivory Soap to bathe with and Clear Unscented Laundry Detergent...no dryer sheets, cotton underwear. Has anyone experienced these and does anyone have any advice for me??? I'm at the end of my rope!! (I'm 54 years old, post menopausal, Pap OK)

Please leave me feedback if we have had a favorable trade and I will do the same for you!

Shirley S. from Northern California 6|2|Yeah, maybe it might do better if you have a follow-up Dr. appt. to ask for some other form of treatment since nothing seems to helping any : ( |Shirley5150|Shirley5150@yahoo.com|13:19:52|10/22/2008|

With me, I use to get an infection like that (and yeast type ones from time-to-time) when I was regularly taking b.c. pills. Maybe it's caused by a medication of some sort or...something you're eating or vitamins/minerals>> but those things sound way too odd so doubt that??? Whatever happens, I hope you get some relief soon. I would be ready to SCREAM at my Dr.!!!

There are certain types of infections that a man can "get" from you and give back to you that will cause a bacterial infection for you but does not affect him. You might need to have him checked and have him tell his doctor what has been going on with you so the doctor knows what to look for. ALso, your gyn might see him to check for the culture.

If does'nt clear up than you need to go to the doctor to get a precription, maybe you need a antibiotic, something you take in a oral pill to fight infection from the inside of your body. And also you might need to switch your bar soap..some soaps will cause the infections as they strip the good bateria away that fights the yeast and keeps them away. If you can find a soap that is more gentle, perhaps one that contains no alcohol.

I have had a similar problem. I use only Arm and Hammer unscented laundry soap. I use Caress bar soap. I even have to be careful what shampoo I use as it trickles down during a shower. Presently I'm using Pert Plus shampoo and I was my hair first and then soap up with the caress. The Dr had told me that Caress or Tone are good bar soaps.

The other thing to look out for is high starch foods. Think about what you've been eating alot of lately.

Another possibility is they just don't give you a long enough prescription and the infection just doesnt' complelety go away.

Thanks!
