DH and I took off this week-end to babysit overnight while Amy and Anthony went to a wedding up here of all places! I had a crayon IN my eye, bopped on the head with a plastic baseball bat, a few small trucks smashed in my face and a baby boy diving on me. WE had a really nice time with Anthony but, LOL, no way are we doing that again for a while and I won't do it ever without DH along! I called her this morning asking when she was coming home, LOL. I think we were out of the house and on the road 30 minutes after they got home! We are exhausted and beat up but we really loved every minute, actually, I didn't enjoy the crayon in my eye.

I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Cincy for my dad's 80th Bday party. I traveled with ds and dil plus 4 yr old Reagan and 22 month old Collin. The kids did great...we drove at night so they slept pretty much all the way there. And even though they were in unfamiliar places with unfamiliar people...they did great and didn't have any meltdowns while there. On the return trip we had to make the 13 hour trip during the day....and what a trip it was....LOL. It's amazing how 12 hours of really good behavior ( gd working on a sticker book and gs playing with his toys) can almost be totally diminished by 1 hour of the kids trying to outyell each other, crying because they are not home NOW, asking evey 2 minutes when they WILL be home and listening to gs's favorite littany "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, Daddy. Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, Mammaw, Mammaw, Mammaw" over and over and over and over.

Since I live 2 hours away from ds and it was almost 9 pm when we got to his house, I had the option of spending the night there and drivving home in the morning.....but like I told dh.....the idea of driving for 2 hours doesn't sound great....but 2 hours of quiet sounds WONDERFUL!!!!!

her second baby, a boy last Wed, so now my Mom has 4 Great Grandchildren,3 boys and 1 girl. We all look at little Lola, and go ahhhhh, how sweet she looks. Anthony has 1 shoe on, 1 shoe off and crayons in his teeth, LOL. I have to say though, Lola doesn't like to give kisses and hugs and doesn't like anyone holding her except her parents or my sister, Anthony, on the other hand will dive from 1 to the other and he is ALL about giving kisses and hugs. I wouldn't trade for anything, LOL, but i think Robin is onto something with the Helmet with face guard.
Cathie : ) 9|1|LOL, sorry Cathie, I am past the baby boys and not yet to the grandbaby boys...so your story got me chuckling...you tell it so well! :D |saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:19:56|10/20/2008|
