Denis Leary: Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid?
- You might remember Denis Leary's (only) hit single released in 1993 - the title's the name of a much-maligned body part synonymous with "complete jerk." The star and co-creator of 'Rescue Me' is doing his part to uphold the repuation with comments made in his new book, 'Why We Suck: A Feel-Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid.'
Leary writes,"There is a huge boom in autism right now because inattentive mothers and competitive dads want an explanation for why their dumb-ass kids can't compete academically, so they throw money into the happy laps of shrinks . . . to get back diagnoses that help explain away the deficiencies of their junior morons. I don't give a [bleep] what these crackerjack whack jobs tell you - yer kid is NOT autistic. He's just stupid. Or lazy. Or both."
The Autism Society of America responds: "For Mr. Leary to suggest that families or doctors conspire to falsely diagnose autism is ridiculous . . . [His] remarks reflect the same misconceptions of autism being caused by bad or unemotional parenting that were held over 50 years ago."
Leary began his career as a comedian, and is famous for his politically incorrect, often profane tirades. 'Why We Suck: A Feel-Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid' also skewers Dr. Phil, Paul McCartney and Hilary Clinton.

I read a lot about health, nutrition, etc., and I really, really believe the rise in Autism, especially in my state of NJ is because of the many vaccinations given to children at such a young age. Their fragile immune systems cannot handle the toxins that's in these vaccines (Mercury, Thimerosal also known as Ethylmercury, which is a toxic chemical mercury). I will give you some facts about this silent enemy:
Today, about 1 in 150 are born with some kind of brain development disorder. That's a 600% increase in the incidence of autism! And other countries are experiencing the same problem. Autism exploded during the 1980's, when it was first pointed out that autism was increasing at a dramatic and frightening rate and many scientists and medical professionals tried to explain it away. The biggest autism spike seen thus far occurred in Brick Township, NJ (where I lived from 1980-94). There, one in 167 children were born with the condition, cased on strict criteria for diagnosis.

It's also related to higher Alzheimer's & Parkinson's diseases
Kids mercury levels are 48 times the safe limit. Two developments were of special note. The MMR vaccine (measles, mumps and rubella) was added to the schedule and there was a significant spike in the number of vaccines administered. While children received 11 injections in 1976, they were getting three times that amount in 1996! They found that a toxic substance called thimerosal had been used as a preservative in most vaccines since the 1930's. Thimerosal is made up of approximately 50% ethylmercury - an organic form of the toxic chemical mercury. That means that for decades, babies and small children were receiving a whopping dose of this lethal substance with every injection. Today children get 12 such injections BEFORE their first birthday! Studies tell us that by the time they are 6 months old, most children are getting 111.3 ug of mercury from vaccines which is 36 times the safe limit set by the EPA (Environmental Protection Association). An analysis found a 470% increased incidence of autism since the introduction of the MMR vaccine - a rate very similar to that seen in this country. However, the MMR injection does not contain thimerosal, as the mercury would kill the live viruses in the vaccine. And the greatest danger appears to come from the measles virus, which is known to suppress immunity much the way the HIV virus does.
Up until age 2, the brain is undergoing its most rapid period of growth and development, so it is astonishing that so-called experts would expose children to a substance known to harm brain development.
Mercury levels are 10 times higher in the brain than in the blood. And vaccines contain another brain-toxic substance that is now getting a lot of attention - aluminum. It's been proved that aluminum, when combined with mercury, increases the toxicity of both metals. Ironically, both elements are thought to play a major role in most of the neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's and Lou Gehrigs disease (ALS).
For over 3 decades, experts knew that injected or ingested mercury accumulates in the brain, because mercury is fat-soluble and the brain is composed of 60% fat. So the brain will hold on to this mercury, possibly for a lifetime.
Another worry is the flu vaccine which is being heavily promoted to young and elderly. The health authorities have promoted flu vaccination for all children between the ages of 6 and 18 months and they recently included all children between 5 and 18 years old. Worse still, they are pushing heavily for flu vaccination for all pregnant women. Studies show that mercury in a pregnant woman's blood is concentrated in the placenta, leaving the baby's level 70% higher than that of the mother.
In conclusion, because there is considerable evidence that nutrition and oral immune stimulants can prevent most childhood diseases, parents should be given the option to choose nutritional approaches in place of vaccines. Countless studies have shown that natural infections provide lifelong protection against these diseases, while vaccines only last for a limited period of time.
My feeling about all this is that we are constantly being bombarded into getting all these vaccines pressured by doctors and pharma companies and to me it's nothing but a huge money making business that can cause huge consequences on our lives! i think any child who has a history of sickness..such as ear infections and has been put on antibotics..over and over..up to the time they receive the MMR vaccine...is a prime target for autism.........i know some think im wrong......but ive got 13 yr old walking proof....

This is just outrageous! As a parent, we know what's best for our children and we have the right to make a decision whether or not to vaccinate our children, not the state or govt to make that decision for us! This just makes me so ill!

My 13 yr old son is a T1 diabetic...When he first was diagnosed almost 3 yrs ago I heard so many mis-informed people says things like..."maybe he just needs to eat more fruits and veggies" or "did he used to eat a lot of candy?", and some other things..LOL....I had to explain that his (Type 1) had nothing to do with any of that...Just that his pancreas was attacked by his immune system and now does not create it's own insulin....
For sure this guy has no idea what he is talking about...I hope those comments never come back to bite him in the butt....:)
