My son broke his ankle got 5 pins and a plate in it now he has a cast and he says it itchen like crazy What should i tell hime to do? I told him maybe put coathanger down but the doctor told him do not put anything down there, it could put the stitchs open. Would lotion help?

If you use the low setting of a hair dryer and just aim it into the cast that seems to be about the best thing you can do. Tell him not to scratch with anything like a coat hanger or use any powders or anything. Air is best really.
