Thought someone might know the answer to this 'question of the day'.. what is with the new shape of the milk jugs? Used to be the regular shorter rounded with handle plastic type..everyone had them in the store. Now seems (at least around here in the stores) they are going to a taller square-r (is that even a word?!)weird looking jug. Alot thicker plastic than what it has always come in. Very sturdy stuff. Still 1 gallon in it..haven't cut the amount of milk ..yet..in the containers although these new containers make it LOOK like there is a more milk in it. Maybe they are getting us used to the new look BEFORE they cut volume from the new containers..I dunno. anyone have any input on this?? Just curious... 1|1|it is so that they don't need to use milk crates to stack them anymore|ab6333|aimee@accountant.com|08:43:12|10/14/2008|

they can now use boxes and shrink wrap them together and stack them. I saw on the
news about a month ago, it will save a lot of money because they won't have to have the
milk crates anymore, won't have to clean them and ship them back to the producing plant.
Less handling and all. Sounds like a good plan. Hope it all works as well as they say.

more of those extra milk crates for 'backup'as I use them in my chest freezer to put stuff in. Easier to find and just pull out the crates. I make them 'specific'..like one crate for beef, one for chicken etc.

Do you know if they are going to this same type for the 1/2 gallons as well?
