It is an anchor with rope.  Not something I can use but could sell...but i'm not sure if it is realy gold or what its worth.  Is there a way to sell this somewhere and have them check if its real? Or can I bring it to a jeweler and ask?  I don't know how to check. It does have something on the back engraved in it but for the life of me I can't tell what it says.

Some jewelers have buyers, some will give a free verbal appraisal, that come in every so often.
