While I wouldn't vote for obama or mccain, I thought palin was vile last night. Twice she went after biden's family (very dirty move) and she was flirting with the audience, sinister winks, etc. Biden answered the moderator's questions and Palin thought that was optional? I just don't get it and I am sickened by her using the name of Christ and behaving in such a sleazy manner. I was also very concerned when she mentioned that she wanted more power for the vice presidential seat, scary stuff indeed. 1|1|I didnt watch the debates last night....I had my fill with the Presidential debates....|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|15:42:28|10/03/2008|

while you certainly have the right to your opinions, I think it is way over the top to call Governor Palin "vile".

Thank God, most viewers don't agree with your biased assessment. Most of the Democratic political pundits admitted that she did a great job. What debate were you watching????

"Mrs. Palin's folksy act was ridiculous and contrived. To think that this poor amateur is being foisted on the public as a representative of our best leadership, is stupid on the part of the US Republican party."

"Palin couldn't even answer the questions asked of her, she kept changing the subjects."

"Sarah Palin could become VP of the country and possibly (God forbid) President. Imagine that! The woman cannot provide a direct answer to a question (witness last night's debate when she did what she does best - provide folksy musings which had little or no bearing on the questions Gwen Ifill asked). Perky can only get you so far. With all due respect, I don't think she has the intellectual depth to deal with the myriad complex issues one would expect a Vice President of this country to have."

"Palin too had a some good moments; but her performance was seriously disfigured by her annoyingly frequent overdoing of the "Oh, I'm just like you regular people" act. Furthermore, she kept berating Biden for mentioning the recent past (specifically where the current administration went wrong) like a broken record which was totally ridiculous because the only way to learn form one's mistakes is to look back and see what one did wrong so as not to fall in the same wrongs over and over again. Also, dodging some questions by using the overused "Condy Rice style" of changing the subject or articulating a lot of words while saying nothing whatsoever.
Last but not least, it seems Palin had the same English teacher as G.W. Bush! For Pete's sake, the word is pronounced < NEW - CLEAR > or < NOO-CLEAR > and never < NOO - KILLER > as Palin said over and over again. If you're running for President or VP, please learn how to speak English first. It is just too embarrassing for words if you didn't.
On a side note, it would be great if Palin could use less of the " I'm cute " Tom Cruise grin."

(NEWS PAPER QUOTES(maybe things others did not see or hear some of her remarks when asked questions below, not to mention her over use of repeating the same thing over and over again, and her lack of education about world affairs, and also her attacking every moment she could, give it a rest, answer the questions all of them)

1. .” Palin, dismissed Barack Obama’s tax cut plan for middle class Americans as a “backward way of trying to grow the economy”.(THIS is a keep the middle class poor, and more taxes then the rich, same thing what Bush is doing, so where is her change on it?)

2. Palin echoing McCain’s rhetoric on the need to win the war in Iraq. Despite fears over her lack of foreign policy experience, the Alaskan governor succeeded in going on the offensive over Biden’s voting record on Iraq. While noting that Biden had voted for the war, she accused the longtime Democratic senator of failing to support the surge strategy.
"Your plan is a white flag of surrender in Iraq,” Palin told her Democratic rival. “And that is not what our troops need to hear today. That's for sure.”
(DO WE WANT TO KEEP FIGHTING in a war we have no buisness in and the whole world knows was a trick to get in there for oil, and now are all laughing at us, and bailing us out with money spent on the war?)

3. Palin declaring that human activity was not the root cause of global warming.

"I don't want to argue about the causes," said Palin referring to her opinion on the origins of climate change. "What I want to argue about is, how are we going to get there to positively affect the impacts?"

In a sharp retort, Biden remarked that "if you don't understand what the cause is, it's virtually impossible to come up with a solution". "We know what the cause is. The cause is man-made. That's the cause. That's why the polar ice-cap is melting.” (funny again did she really do her research about this? or maybe its cause she is with the oil companies? hmm think about it)

4. When asked about her views on Pakistan, For her part though, Palin maintained that “the central war on terror is in Iraq”.( Does she know they are 2 different countries? or would be like Bush when he met with the Tunisian pres and told him " We love our allies in the GULF, when Tunisia is in AFRICA, also shows you how much lack of education she does have on foriegn policy and affairs, and something scary a VP has to know these things, and we do need other countries as our allies)

I'm not either a dem or repub, I just take issue with the republicans because they claim Christ, I am going to hold them to it. Dems aren't saying they are the christian ticket like the republicans are which is why I scrutinize the republican side.
I'm not sure there is anything Christian about the "christian right". I think christian voters are unwittingly being used for votes, all under the name of Christ and it literally makes me sick. I know those christians who vote republican think they are helping and are most likely doing it out of conviction, I don't fault them at all. I don't like to see them being played for fools and laughed at behind the doors when the issues they care about are so important.
I think where we err is looking to a president or ruler for hope instead of looking to God. Men will always fail us but God never does.

1. .” Palin, dismissed Barack Obama’s tax cut plan for middle class Americans as a “backward way of trying to grow the economy”.(THIS is a keep the middle class poor, and more taxes then the rich, same thing what Bush is doing, so where is her change on it?)

The top 1% of income earners pay 39.89% of our nations taxes
The top 50% of income earners together pay 97.1% of our nations taxes
The bottom 50% of income earners together pay only 2.99% of our nations taxes
This information is easy to find--one source is: http://www.taxfoundation.org/news/show/250.html

Cutting taxes for the middle class would do little if nothing, since most middle class Americans don't pay that much in income taxes. And as for those who say the rich don't pay their share, I beg to differ. How would you like to have almost 40% of all your income go away to the government? Most people wouldn't, but the elite rich do all the time, and their taxes keep going up. If you stop to realize that the rich are often the ones that are responsible for creating jobs, then they are the ones you need to "stimulate" with tax cuts, not the middle and lower classes who don't pay much to begin with. Many people who are for a flat tax don't realize that for the bottom 50% of income earners, this would be a tax increase--although it would be "equitable". Just my thoughts.

Senator Joe Biden lied at least 14 times during the vice presidential debate according to those counting at John McCain’s presidential headquarters. Tucker Bounds, a spokesman from GOP presidential candidate John McCain’s campaign said in a statement, ''Joe Biden graduated from his trademark verbal gaffe to outright lie in tonight’s debate.'' (Snip) On the foreign policy front, Biden challenged Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin when she said Barack Obama’s pledge to meet with any foreign leaders

Edited to included the lies:
Joe Biden's 14 Lies

1. TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted “the exact same way” as Obama to increase taxes on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY.

2. AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.

3. OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, “Drill we must.” But Biden has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental Shelf.”

4. TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had already said he would veto regardless of it’s passage.

5. OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.

6. ALERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: According to FactCheck.org, Biden is exaggerating and overstating John McCain’s record voting for alternative energy when he says he voted against it 23 times.

7. HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people's health insurance coverage -- they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false

8. OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in Alaska -- she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it's not a windfall profits tax.

9. AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO's International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.

10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation -- he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.

11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was “dead wrong on Iraq”, because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.

12. TAX INCREASES: Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn’t see higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 or more.

13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn’t meet two of the four principles that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic stimulus package, and that it be part of “part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.”

14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden is wrong in saying that under Obama, Americans won't pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan.

LOL.......reminds me of the cows always promoting chicfila.....ever wonder why(LOL))

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One thing about Palin I did like was her stance on a country that embraces "life"... I was pregnant at a young age and chose life and God knows Im glad I did! My aunt was raped and pregnant at the age of 12 and chose life (my grandmother says my aunt said "but mom, its still my baby)According to my grandmother, back then a midwife would come to the house and "do something" to you and days later you would abort and they immediately were given the option, we are glad she chose life. My uncle Josh had a known birth defect and my grandmother chose life. We are glad she did. Everyone has their own choices to make. No man owns heaven or hell to put us in. Only God. We have to go with our own conscience. Im glad Palins daughter decided to keep her baby and I would hope and pray no one would judge me for the actions of my children. I know I raised them well, at some point they have to make their own choices and learn their own lessons.
I just wish there was a third choice....cause McCain/Palin just wont cut it for me. Im looking at this from a few angles(christian first, active duty military, minority).
If Obama is elected I do pray for the safety of him and his family, For him to do what he has done so far is impressive. He has done it with death threats against him and his family and he didnt stop. I applaud him for going after his dream against all odds. Look at how well he has run his campaign...he has made history and no one can deny him that. He cant help where he was born and what his birth certificate says...that was his parents doing..how did he get this far before it became an issue...give me a break. Im not sure if the country is ready for a minority president (eventho most say "it doesnt matter", we all know it does).....and its kinda scary.......
Isn't she sweet? Wow. Again, she shows that she does not represent Christ at all.
In thanking Mandell, Palin cited a quotation from former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright that Palin had seen the day before on a Starbucks mocha cup: "There's a place in hell reserved for women who don't support other women."
(The quotation was slightly off. Albright used the word "help" instead of "support.")
who deliberately misrepresents the facts, and changes them to suit her own purposes, the way Palin has. I hate that she is playing on our fears about something so devastating as terrorism on our own soil! Surely those thousands of victims of 9/11 and their families and friends do NOT find her funny at all. I am very upset about her claiming that Obama has ties to terrorists. It has been explained over and over, that the person referred to, was protesting against VIETNAM decades ago: hardly a threat today! I think she has gone too far! Sure, all politicians knowingly lie to further their own purposes, (there is NO better example than George Bush and Iraq's Weapons of Mass Destruction), BUT to try and deliberately instill fear and uncertainty in our already devastated population, is just SO low, I now think NOTHING of her. She OBVIOUSLY thinks nothing of US!! I just hope and PRAY that voters see her for who she really is! A power hungry, conniving, insensitive, perpetual liar (yes, I did hear her speak about wanting more power for the office of VP). Sure it would be nice to see a female in office, and yes, she does have a pretty smile, BUT, I wouldn't trust her for a minute! God bless the USA!
