I would never have guessed you could get that much. Don't like dear meat myself. Even though my dad used to go hunting and brought home pheasants, rabbits, etc., I never developed a taste for it - too strong for me, I guess.

But nothing like getting some free meat to add to your freezer!

ps. I think I've turned into a city person because when I read the OP line, my first thought was that the dog had brought them home, not that someone had given them to you! ROFL 6|1|Ugghh! Happy for all you people who like deer meat |Skaytes|skaytez@gmail.com|10:31:32|10/03/2008|

but (long story much shorter) when I was divorced and kids were little, that is all we had to eat meat wise. Literally saved us from starving to death. Ex wouldn't pay support but since worked for sheriffs dept got us deer that were hit by car ..I had to haul it home, hang it, gut it, cut it etc all by myself. Saved me and the kids from starving though. Now..I detest it and so do they. However, hubby always hunts (bow & shotgun) so we get it cut up and he makes sausage from it too and we give it to those who need it. Do the same with the turkeys here too. Always glad someone likes it and can use it... 7|1|There was a few posts from Lady D|destiny|destinyroger@yahoo.com|10:33:52|10/03/2008|

a refund newsletter I get and she's going crazy with her de-hydrator. It sounds like fun! I went to Walmart last week and they didn't have any but I know they'll pop up for the Christmas season. I'm going to buy one myself. We buy the big bags of jerky at Costco. Anyway, when you make the jerky, the taste isn't strong at all.. it's real good and so inexpensive and easy to make! I made mine in the oven..
