I don't know what is wrong with kids today. My daughter came home today and told me that someone had put a "KICK ME" sign on her back today and someone actually kicked her. She said she did not see who did it. I think it happened while the kids was at the lockers between classes. It makes me so mad how kids treat each other. My daughter knows that she is not to treat people badly, always to treat them with kindness. I will be calling the school tomorrow to complain. Thanks for listening. Karen S. 1|1|SAD!!!! 2|1|That is sad....This is one reason why we homeschool...Cheyenne was attacked by a kid in 2nd grade...He asked her if she wanted to see how sharp his pencil was and she said no thank you and he stabbed her in the arm with it anyways. I was so pissed off cause they didn't even call me, she told me when I picked her up after school..Then what really got me was that they didn't do anything to the kid. arm ..plainly visable and she will show anyone who asks..kid jammed pencil into her arm and lead broke off. She is 32 now, so kids were 'bad' when she was a kid herself just not as rampid as it is now days. Now it's much more prominent I think. Not only do I blame parents (it's THEIR responsiblity to be the parent and raise their children correctly..teaching them right from wrong and so forth. They can be their kids 'friend' later in life, but they need to be the 'parent'now!) but also the government for not letting the parents disipline their children. Everyone I know that was raised when I was (am 52 now), they KNEW if they did wrong there was punishment. You got spankings and such. You KNEW if you got a in trouble at school, when you got home you would be in TWICE as much trouble. We are talking you knew you wouldn't be able to sit down for a couple of weeks with the spanking you would get plus you had LOTS of chores to do all the time. You didn't get something you wanted just because you wanted it 'now'. I had to wait several years to get a 'cool' portable stereo I wanted and that was pretty much my entire Christmas present. Hmm..didn't hurt me a bit to wait either. I appreciated what I got when I got something. Nowdays, kids do not appreciate anything at all..expect it to automatically be handed over to them.
We also had guns in the house..as did everyone we knew...kids never even THOUGHT about touching them! You were raised to know how to use them and to NEVER touch them or you knew what would happen. Good thing we had lots of 'padding'! ;) Anyhooo..today if you even verbally say anything to the kids about any kind of disipline pretty much, you find the child welfare people at your doorstep. No wonder kids are so horrible. No disipline..no bounderies for them with consequences. Very sad. My kids were all raised to know they did something wrong, they knew there were consequences for their actions. They also were raised to respect ALL people regardless of their religion, race, disablities etc. I taught them there are good and bad in ALL people so you have to judge someone by who they are as a person. Anyhoo..sorry for the rant. Just irritates me to no end to see kids being so disrespect of people and property as well as hateful and mean these days. i'm sorry but isn't this something kids have been doing for YEARS?
i don't feel it is right by any stretch of the imagination... but to label the act as an act of "kids today" is simply wrong, it has been going on since before my grandmother went to school.
as for "kids today" i'd be greatful it wasn't something worse that happened to her. with children carrying guns and knives and drugs this act could have been much much worse.
i am very sorry for what happened to your daughter and i hope it doesn't happen again. may she grow and learn from this experience and i hope the kids who did this will too.

Just be greatful that it wasnt worse. And calling the school may make it worse.
When I was in 6th grade some dirty rotten ... put a sign on my back that said "rump roast $1.50lb" I'll never forget it, but I got over it.
