We were just driving home from getting one of the stray kitties his shots and as I was driving down I-5 my car just totally lost power. I drifted almost 2 miles and got off (THANK goodness!) the freeway. I think it is the fuel pump (we just replaced the darn thing a couple months ago but it was doing the same thing when mechanic fixed it and he is someone I trust).
So there I was on the shoulder with three kids and a very scared cat. I could have called for a tow truck, but it was almost 6 and I could not fathom trying to wait there with 3 kids and the cat in the heat, so we just walked most of a mile to the bus and then came home. I'll deal with it tomorrow morning.
It could have been so much worse considering, but I am really hoping it is not too much to fix.
It's always something! At least my life is never boring!

ps-- the kitty, who we are calling "terrible jack" is feeling much better. He's cooled off and is now making his home in the DD's room. Before today he was not allowed inside because I could not be sure he did not have kitty leukemia, so he is really happy to be here. The other cats, not so happy. I can't please everyone all of the time, LOL!
