The only thing I do with them is throw them away. I am in AWE of you all! 5|2|This link (from Kathy's reply) was cool....other uses besides crocheting with them! http://www.needlepointers.com/displaypage.aspx?ArticleID=34463&URL=http%3a%2f%2fthepartyworks.com%2farticle_info.php%2fcArticlePath%2f25%2farticles_id%2f130|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|08:17:49|09/30/2008|

A LONG time ago, my mother use to crocket rugs using strips made from bread wrappers. The brown wrappers would really make some pretty rugs. It's weird how I found this thread today cuz I get very little time on here and don't come over here very often. Just Sunday I was asking my sister in law if she remembered how my mom use to make these rugs cuz i'm gearing up for the winter. I crochets a little when I was a kid but I will have to learn all over again i'm afraid. I'm looking forward to this! These sites are amazing! I'll have to try and set aside time to go thru them all! btw.. I just bought 3 different sizes of the round weaving looms at the Salvation Army. I would if it would be possible to make totes using these? It's a thought. :)

"Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy." 10|2|I started one...got a big ball of bag yarn ready, did several rows so far...omg, it is killing my hands to crochet with the plastic! Is is just me??? I think I might use this idea but use something easier to crochet with...like old tshirts!|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:51:25|10/19/2008|

I was thinking this could be done with old tshirts too...cut off the sleeves and cut straight across just below the neck band to remove. Then cut strips across the tshirt cutting both thicknesses at once...you will still have loops to loop together then ball up for yarn....might be easier to crochet with too...I'll see how much my hands and wrists can take of crocheting with the plastic bag yarn, but I dont know, maybe I'm doing something wrong??

"Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy." 11|3|Joy, I have made shopping bags with t-shirts, but not crochet them..I just cut the neck hole area wider, sew the botton of t-shirt, cut the sleeves down a little|HONEY11|HONEY1@AMERITECH.NET|16:56:43|10/19/2008|

and whats left of the sleeves becomes the handles of tote, so hardley any sewing I need to do..You can make some of the cutest totes and purses out of using t-shirts or even tank tops..I like to use size medium in mens. They are really quick to whip up and I often get compliments on my bags and purses..

12|4|Hmm, that's even easier yet....I should have tshirts to use at least twice a year as the boys out grow them or they get a little holey under the arms and the necks are stretched out, lol I might have a couple to give that a try with now :) I hate to quit on the plastic bag totes, but my hands and wrists were horrible after doing only 5 rows :(|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|19:25:49|10/19/2008|

"Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy." 13|1|Joy-are you using the size N hook? also, don't crochet too tight, much|Mackiesmudder|Mackiesmudder@aol.com|21:49:03|10/19/2008|

easier to use the N hook!
Cathie : ) 14|2|I tried it with a large hook (I am guessing it is M or N--it's not marked, it is plastic)...the metal K hook is working better actually as far as how it looks when I get stitches done, lol.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:38:01|10/20/2008|
