Things are crazy here in Atlanta right now. Ever since Hurricane Ike we've slowly been running out of gas. NO gas stations have gas right now. And those that do sell out in 3-4 hours. Saturday I was grocery shopping and happened to see that Kroger had gas, so I went home and hubby and I went and got gas. We waited in line for 1 hour to get gas!! And while we were in line they ran out of regular so we had to buy premium. They're now saying it could be like this for 2 weeks. On the news they said people are calling 911 for some reason and flooding the system. People are leaving their house at 2 am to drive around and try to find a station and if they see a gas tanker truck cars just start following it until it reaches a gas station. DH tried to get his boss to let him work 4 ten hour days to save gas. He drives 20 miles to work each way. But the boss said "Nope. If you run out of gas, just don't come in to work." Well, duh. But we don't want him to have to use his vacation days or to not get paid. Oh well. Hopefully what we have will last us!

It's crazy! Anyone else experiencing this "shortage"?

The gas stations right by our house were out for almost 3 weeks....They said on the news that the gas stations that actually have a contract with the oil companies get their's first......We have been keeping our automobiles topped off every few days....Helps a little too, not to have them crazy $85-$90 fill-ups.....I have also started limiting my runs....doing a lot of stops in one outing....I know there were some people in a panic last week...on the news in Nashville people were almost in fights.....The news also said that when the stores did get gas, everyone filled up, in panic, and it just depleted the tanks faster....My daughter said she was out one day and saw a tanker truck heading to a gas station and it had a parade of cars following it....LOL....not meaning to laugh, but that had to be a (SAD) picture moment...
