9 0|0|Washing machine broken--still full of water--how do I get it out?|sheliar|sandk95@embarqmail.com|13:33:00|09/28/2008|

My washing machine kicked the bucket last night. It will not spin properly, and did not drain the water out. I've squeezed the clothes that were in there out by hand, but how do I get the water out? I will probably not have it fixed and instead get a new one, but how do I drain it? HELP!

do you have a wet/dry vac? If so attach it to the end of the hose and turn it on ,it will get all the water out at the very least BUT it could also be something clogging the hose (which will cause it not to spin or drain)so using the wet/dry vac could also fix it....... 2|2|It started whining last night before it finally stopped|sheliar|sandk95@embarqmail.com|14:07:39|09/28/2008|

I restarted it and it was finicky, but would occasionally work, then finally stopped with a load still in there. So, no, I don't think it's something clogging it. My husband seems to think it's the motor. I don't have a wet/dry vac, so I need another way if possible.

ETA: My other washer was over 7 yrs old when I had trouble with it, and would have cost me about $260 in parts/labor to fix, I invested an extra $60 and just bought a new, no-fangles but reliable brand washer instead.

I'M TOO GOOD LOOKING TO BE THIS OLD...AT MY AGE I'VE SEEN IT ALL, I'VE HEARD IT ALL, AND I'VE DONE IT ALL..I JUST CAN'T REMEMBER IT ALL!!!!!!!! 5|5|How high is it? Can your hubby stick a hose in there and try to siphon it out? Kind of like someone would siphon gas? I know my parents' water bed was on the second floor and they used a hose, created suction (I think my dad sucked on the hose or something, LOL) and then let gravity to the rest.|Sara_s_Mom|IClipCoupons@gmail.com|20:37:06|09/28/2008|

take off the back panel and unhook the hose from the inside bottom...just two metal clamps holding it to the connection on the tub (just squeeze them and pull the hose off)...all the water will come flowing out so have plenty of towels......... 7|2|Oh, that's what I was afraid of|sheliar|sandk95@embarqmail.com|11:32:05|09/29/2008|

I still think it's the motor. The whining sound we heard before sounded like machinery not engaging, not the slipping of a belt. I think we are going to get another one since it's cheaper than having it fixed. Just don't have the money to do this right now! In the past month, our diswasher has broken (doing all dishes by hand), our riding lawnmower blew an engine, so we have to push our good-sized lot (takes most of the day just to mow, much less trim), and now the washing machine. They say these things come in 3's--so that's my 3. I just hope another set doesn't start anytime soon. I mean, we can wait on the dishwasher & lawn mower, but we really need the washer. I posted on freecycle to see if anyone had one they're willing to give away. Wish me luck!

when you put the lid down a pin should go into hole on machine. Mine broke and that's all that needed fixing. Just keep lid up and push down in oval hole.

Hope I am explaining good enough for you!

9|2|Bonnie is right, try keeping the lid up and pushing the button down with your finger . I had some one come and cut mine out so I didn't have to get a new one.|coltura68|Coltura68@gmail.com|13:59:14|09/29/2008|
